Our face is our identity. It is what makes a different and unique standout in this overcrowded world. Whether it be your identify card,

Our face is our identity. It's what makes us stand out unique from the rest of the work. Whether it be any of your identity cards or your phone, your face will help identify you.

The face is also the display unit of our inner emotions to the outside world. Your face tells the world if you are happy, sad, angry, emotional, or just blank.

The face is also one of the most prominent body parts which define our external beauty. Hence, there is no surprise that it is the target of most beauty products out there.

When we look at any face, one of the most important components that catch anybody's eyes is your skin. And your skin requires a lot of care and time for maintenance; Failing may lead to a lot of skin-related issues such as wrinkles, dark circles, acne, open pores, and freckles.

The skin loses its elasticity as we age due to the collagen production process slowing down with time. Many factors, such as sun exposure, air pollution, and some lifestyle changes, will increase the skin's aging process.

As your age increases, the skin starts to become thin and dry. When your skin lacks enough moisture or volume, it can make you an easy target for wrinkles. Some fine lines or signs of aging are not an issue for some people, but if they appear on your face prematurely than it can be concerning.

Most of us are very conscious of our skin but make the biggest mistake of using expensive chemical-based cosmetics, which may make you feel good in the short run but may cause irreparable damages in the long run.

It is better to avoid such products and adapt the more natural ways of keeping your skin healthy and radiating like - a balanced diet, daily exercise, and even facial yoga.

Yes, several face yoga exercises can help in fighting the early signs of aging. Face yoga, or facial exercises, help in strengthening specific muscles to keep the skin tight and toned.

Face yoga is effective and is less invasive than other Botox treatments or artificial fillers.

Facial yoga is also cheaper than artificial skin treatments, and many people choose to try out these natural ways for their wrinkles these days.

You can treat wrinkles without medical or surgical procedures, but it becomes very tough to reverse the wrinkles once you already have them.

But some ways can make the wrinkle appearance process slow and tone your skin.

Facial yogasanas to reduce wrinkles

Face Yoga has many physical and mental benefits, because of which facial exercises are suggested to patients trying to recover from facial paralysis.

8 facial yogasanas to reduce wrinkles and tone skin:

1. Forehead smoother

The forehead smoother helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles and should be done at least 6 times a day. It is a simple facial exercise which opens up your muscles and focuses on forehead.

Make a fist with both hands with the fingers facing toward yourself. Then, keep the knuckles of your middle fingers on your forehead and put some pressure on it. Glide both your fists to each side of the forehead in opposite directions up to the end of your face. Make sure that your fingers are pointing inward, and facing towards each other, while doing the forehead smoother. This is a natural way to remove the forehead wrinkles.

2. Natural lip plumper

Natural lip plumper is another facial exercise that helps plump thin lips and reduces wrinkles in both the corners of your mouth.

You either sit or lie down and put your head back straight. Pucker your lips tightly with your fingers and push forward. Hold the natural lip plumper pose for at least 10-15 seconds before leaving it.

Coconut oil or peppermint lip balm are also effective natural remedies to plump your lips. These stimulate the blood flow, and there might be mild swelling for a few hours that will go off naturally.

3. Double V Pose

Double V is beneficial for treating crow's feet and drooping eyelids if done at least 8 times every day. Make a peace sign with both your hands and put the middle finger on the inner side of your eyebrow and the other finger on the outer part of your eyebrow. Then, gently put pressure and look upwards while squinting. Double V can even assist in reducing the face fat around your eyes.

4. Natural neck lift

Natural neck lift helps to fight drooping and sagging neck and jaw, and should be repeated around 5-6 times at regular intervals on a daily basis. Tilt your head back slowly so that you experience some stretch in your neck. Bring your lower lip out so that you can experience the stretch which keeps expanding. Keep your fingers on each side of the neck and then slide them down towards your collarbone.

5. Puffer Fish Pose

Pufferfish helps in fixing sagging or thin cheeks. Just like the name says, you have to keep your mouth closed and fill your cheeks with as much air as feasible. Remain in the same position for a few minutes. Breathe out and release the air slowly. Do this facial exercise 3 times daily.

The puffer face tones down your cheek muscles. It also helps in making you look leaner and highlighting your jawline. It will stretch the cheek muscles making them wrinkle-free.

6. Lion pose

For a lion pose, you have to drop your jaw and open your mouth wide, stick out your tongue and stretch it down towards your chin. Breathe through your mouth and make a sound like a lion's roar in your throat.

This pose helps in lengthening and strengthening facial muscles for a toned appearance. Repeat the exercise 5 times a day. Lion pose also called Simhasana in yoga, is basically to stretch the face and throat muscles, and prevents premature wrinkles on these areas.

7. Big yawn

In this facial exercise, you have to keep your mouth closed and show like you are chewing a large bite of food. Than, open your mouth as wide as possible, and press your tongue up to your lower teeth. Stay in this pose for 10-15 seconds. This face yogasan helps in reducing the double chin and also defining your cheekbones. Do the big yawn facial exercise at least 7 times a day.

8. Wide awake

Wide awake facial exercise reduces the eye bags and loose eyebrows, and you have to repeat this exercise at least 4 times daily. Put your hands on the sides of your face, keeping the ring fingers on the ends of your eyebrows. Apply some pressure, slowly lift your hands up and back to pull your skin. Drop your jaw down to make your face as long as possible.

Key Takeaways

These are some facial yoga exercises which may just take 15 minutes in a day but help in reducing wrinkles and tone your skin, the natural way. Facial yoga is an amazing concept, however, many people are still not aware of it. These facial exercises fight off wrinkles and other aging signs that show up mostly on your face.

An individual should practice facial yoga for 15 minutes a day to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, and also to regulate the facial muscles. You will get good results but it takes time to show and will be long-lasting without any side effects, so have patience.
