8 Simple Tips to Keep Your Skin Looking Young and radiant
Know the secret to everlasting youth. Read more!
As we age, the way our skin looks and feels can change. There are numerous factors that can contribute to these changes including sun exposure, stress and hormonal changes. While there’s not much we can do about our age, there are some easy things we can do to ensure we maintain the healthy skin of our youth. Here are eight simple tips you can use to help keep your skin looking young and vibrant throughout your life.
1) Exfoliate
Exfoliate at least once a week, or every other day if you have sensitive skin. Doing so will help slough off dead skin cells that can clog pores, prevent the growth of bacteria, and keep your skin soft. Exfoliating is also necessary for those who want to use chemical peels or laser treatments for acne scarring or wrinkles. It’s important to know how often you should exfoliate when using these products; consult your dermatologist for more information.

2) Retinol Products
Retinol is a form of vitamin A that works by breaking down the outer layer of your skin. It reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, acne, and evens out your skin tone. Retinol treatments can be applied topically or taken orally as a supplement. If you are interested in trying retinol for yourself, we recommend that you speak with a qualified dermatologist first to make sure it is safe for your skin type.
3) Moisturize
Moisturizing skin is one of the best ways to keep it looking young and healthy. Look for a moisturizer that contains ingredients like Vitamin C, which can help reduce signs of aging, such as wrinkles. You should also consider using a moisturizer with SPF in it, which will help protect your skin from harmful UV rays that can make you look older. When choosing a moisturizer, be sure to avoid those containing chemicals or fragrances that could irritate your skin.
A great way to add some extra moisture into your routine is by taking care of your hands and feet. These are often neglected areas but when you take care of them they will thank you with youthful-looking hands and nails!

4) Drink Water
Drinking water is one of the simplest things you can do to keep your skin looking healthy. Not only does it hydrate your skin, but it also helps flush out toxins that may be trapped in your body. Drink at least 8 glasses a day for best results! You will feel more energized and hydrated.
5) Sunscreen
It is important to use sunscreen every day, as UV rays are harmful for the skin. Sunscreen should be applied at least 15 minutes before going outside. This will allow it time to bind with your skin before you go out into the sun. Re-apply every two hours and after swimming or sweating a lot, as this can wash away some of the protection. If applying makeup on top, apply it first so that the makeup doesn't block the sunscreen from reaching your skin..
6) Get Enough Sleep
Getting enough sleep is essential for staying healthy, which means you should get around 8 hours each night. When we sleep, our skin cells regenerate, so don’t skimp on this important step!

7) Facial Masks
Try Some Facial Masks: Our favorite trick for giving our face a boost when we are feeling tired or stressed is using facial masks from Trader Joe’s every week. The variety of masks they offer make it easy to find one that will give your skin the extra love it needs at the moment. We've found that the Aztec Clay Mask has been perfect for getting out all of the impurities in our skin and leaving us with a brighter complexion.
8) Eat Healthy
The body needs nutrients from food in order to keep the immune system strong, which will help with preventing aging of the skin. Eating an antioxidant-rich diet like blueberries or carrots can help as well. You can even try green tea to give your metabolism a boost.
