Wrong career? Right career?

We have always been told what's right and what's wrong since we were little. At 17 years old, we are supposed to start figuring out what Major we are going to study in college, or what's my next career going to be? or what is a proper job? What job is the right job to live a comfortable life?

What does that even mean?

My parents have built a mindset for me and my sister that if I want to have a comfortable life, I need to hustle, hustle, and hustle, and a little bit more of hustling. But they have also never mentioned that in order for me to LIVE a comfortable life, I need to do the exact opposite of what 97% of the population is doing. Which means that 3% of the people in the U.S. are doing the extra "curricular" or extra jobs that nobody else is willing to do.

After realizing that in order for me to become the next 3%, I do need to hustle and put in the work that every single person is not willing to do, to do it every single day, and remember no excuses! Which is, WORKING FOR MYSELF. Becoming what we love to call, "Boss Lady/Men".

Most of the time, we invest our time and money in college for 4 years and more, and first thing we realize is that "We don't know anything". Why? Didn't we spend 4 years of money and time so we can become someone in life and have a "proper job"? In reality, besides being a doctor or lawyer, College teaches you to be prepared for the world and to work for someone for the rest of your life. And there's nothing wrong with that, as long as you are okay with being part of the 97% of the population.

But everyone has different goals, and what's important to know when you are looking for a new opportunity are 3 things: Money, Fun and/or Progression. As long as you find and match exactly what you are looking for, is that the career job you wanted? Is it enough? Is it exactly what you were looking for out of college?

Being part of the 97% of the population is cool, it's just okay. But why wouldn't I look for something where it can challenge me? Where I can be valued for my work ethic? And maybe, a lot of people, if not everyone around me will judge me because "I work too hard". So what?

Understand that short term sacrifices turns into long term gains, and if at any point you doubt yourself, Don't! Because all the work you put in today it's going to be worth it in the long run. But set goals, set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals and do whatever it takes to achieve those goals.

During the pandemic (COVID-19), one of the biggest businesses in the world have gone bankrupt and had to fire multiple people so they could try to still run their business. What's a proper job? Nothing is more secure than myself!

When looking for new opportunities, we always expect the right opportunity to fall right on our lap and be lucky enough to love the money provided and the opportunity. Remember to never stop searching for it until you find exactly what you have been looking for. Even though, a lot of the times we have no idea what it is.

What's important to know is that nobody will ever know your passion more than yourself. Money, challenges, growth, might give you the dream job that you are looking for, but it will never be a dream until you love and are passionate about what you do every single day.

Once you do find it, give your 100% to every part of it. Can't get the dream opportunity if you are not putting enough effort to what you are building for your future.

And if you feel a little lost, and that maybe you don't know what that "dream" job is. Remember you are not the only one! "Just keep swimming" and with the right time and effort, you lead your dream job.

Enjoy life and love your career!
