Let's face it, many of us have thought about that. Why not create a YouTube channel? Indeed, looking at how quickly the channels of people, engaged in creating content in their area of interest, are growing, it is hard to resist the desire to try something similar. After all, each of us dreams of doing what we love or at least working with the sphere that interests us.

YouTube channel is a really good way to make money. The platform has its own special system of payments for advertising. However, statistics say that the average YouTube channel can earn from $3 to $5 per 1000 video views. What if a million people watch the video? Two million? It is easy to calculate and the numbers are extremely nice.

So what is needed in order to launch your YouTube career? A lot of things, obviously. In addition to the extreme desire and free time, there is a large list of what you need to start your YT career successfully. But in our today's article, we will concentrate on three overarching, from our point of view, components - Idea, Music, and Montage.

Idea

Well, we start with the obvious and biggest problem. Idea. Better yet, a unique idea. Who needs endless replicas of existing channels? In fact, this is not entirely true, but more on that later. If you browse through YouTube channels or set a goal and conduct a study, you will fail to find something so unique and inimitable that has not yet been created on YouTube. The thing is that the platform has existed for a long time and is accessible to everyone, and therefore many projects have already been successfully launched, and most niches, such as cinema news/reviews or let's play, have long been occupied.

And yet, without an idea, you will not succeed. First of all, drop all the thoughts of uniqueness. Just because you are unlikely to be able to invent and create something so unique. It is better to concentrate on successful channels and try to think about which niches, questions, ideas, and problems they did not cover? For example, is this popular movie blogger reviewing absolutely all the latest movies or is he only dealing with the most popular ones? What about the author's cinema and arthouse, which also has many fans around the world? This is just an example, but you get the idea. You should move in that direction.

The next advice - forget about personal vlogging unless your life is full of travel and new experiences. And if so, why do you need a YouTube career, just enjoy your life. What we want to say is that such simple and popular niches as vlogging, let's play and others have long been occupied with their heroes (hi PewDiePie) and it will be extremely difficult for you to snatch even a small piece of their audience.

However, not all popular ideas are so hopeless. Cooking will always find its fans. Rummage in your grandma’s old stuff and maybe you will find there an old book of the pre-Great Depression recipes. Is it original? Yes, it is. Your task is to develop a non-standard approach to standard things. Look for paths that seem to have already been traveled long before you, but where many subtle points have been missed. The same applies to life-hack channels and humor or fitness-oriented channels. Even here you can try to develop a non-standard approach.

But what will really make your channel unique, is the two following factors.

Music

Your first assistant in creating unique content is music. Look at any YouTube channel. Each of them has its own screensaver with a musical theme that plays on the background. Context music is very important because your voice cannot just sound on an empty background. Videos of this kind will attract approximately 15 people, 10 of which will be from your friends, and 5 will watch the video without sound. Jokes aside, background music is very important.

Fortunately, unique music, which will begin to be associated exclusively with your content with the rising popularity of your channel, is the least of your problems. There are a huge number of platforms with large libraries of royalty-free music, providing it under licenses. Royalty-free means that you don’t have to deal with fees to musicians. Apply for a license or subscription, or just download a couple of tracks, and create your own, unique music theme for your channel. Many platforms also offer their users Creative Commons license, which is well suited for the YouTube channel too.

What will cause you more problems is the last thing on our list.

Montage

So we come to the last thing that will help you make your channel unique, and, in the future, successful. Montage is the key. The fact is that today you will not surprise anyone with a video where a person stands for 15 minutes and mutters something into the camera. It looks infinitely outdated and nobody will watch it.

The same applies to a video without actual visual contact. A boring frame change drives your viewers to sleep. You should treat your content like moviemakers treat their movies. In cinema, editing is one of the most honorable and time-consuming tasks. Ask any director and he will tell you how editing, and not the camera, work with our feelings and with the concentration of our attention. It is in the editing room, where it is decided on what the viewer should look at, where should he focus his eyes on and how many seconds the frame should last. The frame length is also crucial.

Most likely, you are not going to win an Oscar and thank the Academy this year. Therefore, the basic skills of working with free editing applications will be enough for your YouTube channel. Try one from that list. Or you can hire a freelance editor somewhere on Upwork. The choice is yours, but we advise you to learn how to edit the video yourself, at least the basics. It will help you to understand better the whole process of video-making.

Summing Up

Finally, we would like to say that, of course, the idea, music, and montage aren't all you need for a successful YouTube career. You need much, much more. A successful and large-scale YouTube channel is a factory for the production of content. And all the individual components of this factory should work together like a well-oiled machine. However, it is these three factors, that we mentioned today, that are responsible for the uniqueness of your content.

On YouTube, it is the uniqueness (idea, montage) and presentation (music, montage) that make the video viral and bring a good income to the owners of such channels.
