Vocal Subscribe: The Power Is In Your Click
Vocal's SUBSCRIBE feature is finally here. We at the VSS are over the moon excited, and ready to follow our peers!
Well, this has been quite a weekend. Not only did our online literary society, The VSS, successfully launch its new social media presence using our article, Introducing The Vocal Social Society: A New Way to Network, but Vocal turned around and surprised us all with the long awaited subscribe button! We at the VSS are over the moon excited to follow our friends, and, more importantly, attract and retain more readers.
In fact, attracting more readers is one of our biggest goals, and the primary reason we decided to make our Facebook Group public.
As mentioned in our launch article,
We encourage you to invite your friends, family—that weird neighbour who always stands too close—everyone, to come and read your work. After all, reads curated from non-writers are your true audience. I'll swap you my weird neighbour for yours ;)
One of our most beloved features on Vocal is that there is no pay-wall. Unlike other sites, which limit the number of reads you can enjoy before being asked to open your wallet, Vocal content is UNLIMITED. This means if you find yourself with time to spare, and you want to go ahead and binge-read some fiction, such as the Vocal Summer Fiction Series, you can read as many stories as you like completely free.
What Subscribe Means to Creators
With the power of SUBSCRIBE, the dream of becoming Vocal-Famous is more attainable than ever before. Much like YouTube, your Vocal subscribers will be able to follow you along your literary journey and enjoy your content as you create it. You will still need to promote your work, but your reach will extend that much farther, and you will be able to maintain a fan base. (Did I just write fan base? Why, yes I did!)
Speaking of promoting your work, if you are new to Vocal and looking to network, come and check out the Vocal Social Society. The VSS bridges the gap between Vocal and social media. Think of us as a rock in the storm that is your creative journey. We are dedicated to engaging, creating, uplifting and inspiring our fellow creators and the general public. Each day, Monday through Friday, Admin will feature a unique pairing of communities. Group members may post pieces they have written that are either directly from that community, OR could have been published in that community but were published elsewhere. At the end of every week, we will be selecting 5 Fabulous peer-reviewed stories to showcase on our Instagram! For the full details, including a Q&A click here.
Aside from attracting readers, SUBSCRIBE will also benefit the Vocal Creator community. Now when you make a connection with a fellow writer, instead of trying to remember their pen name, you can simply subscribe to their content directly.
Bottom-line: The Power Is In Your Click
SUBSCRIBE means that you have the ability to make sure that new content from the powerhouse writers you already enjoy—and those you have yet to find—shows up in your feed. Just imagine sitting down with a cuppa and a list of new stories from people whose words leap off the screen: like Paula Shablo, who just put her 100 mark notch in her writing kit. If a subscription list newsfeed on Vocal isn't the freshest new way to ease into your day (or out of it), we're not sure what is.
Not sure who to add to your subscribe list?
Tune into the VSS feed on Facebook or Instagram and follow along with our members as they create new material each and every day. Then subscribe to your favourites on Vocal so you never miss a story! We know what is waiting for us at the end of our rainbow. What's at the end of yours? SUBSCRIBE to find out!
Thank you, Vocal. We at the VSS are thrilled to see our favourite writing platform spread its wings and fly just that little bit higher.
