Welcome! Today we delve into the freelance market place called Fiverr! Fiverr is a Unique site, it has a large group of buyers and it’s based around doing a small easy task for someone for a small amount of cash. Fiverr was created so people didn’t have to micromanage a project on their own. With this in mind, there are a lot of things that can be done to help raise your ranking on Fiverr, and keep people interested in your product. So what are the top ten tips for keeping ahead of the competition? Well, read to find out!

1 SEO And Keywords

Keep your title simple, but full of keywords. Keywords are words that clients and customers will use when they search for your service. If your a voice actor, using ‘voiceover’ or ‘voice actor’ in your title is pretty important, as these are the two most popular searches for voice-over work. While you're changing your title, Make sure your SEO game is on point. The more times you put ‘Voice over’ or ‘Voice actor’ in your descriptions, FAQ, or requirements, the more you move up in rankings. Basically, without distracting from what you are trying to say. It’s important to form a balance, but the more you include those words, the higher your ranking will be when people search for those words.

2 Join Facebook Groups

People hold exchanges for saves, clicks, and even reviews, to boost each other's gigs. I definitely recommend participating as the more clicks and saves you have, the more traffic. Reviews are great to make sure people are impressed enough to buy from you. The more reviews you have, the more experienced people think you are. Plus every Facebook group is a chance to get more eyes on your gigs! Join craigslist and Reddit exchanges. Similar to the Facebook group exchanges, these are trades between freelancers. You click and save someone's gig and they do the same to you. Saves and clicks boost your rating, which puts you closer (if not on) to the first page. Just be careful who you trade reviews with or you could end up being tricked.

3 Use Your Hobbies To Promote Yourself

Are you a crafter? Try crafting fun art that relates to your gig and sell them on Esty or eBay. If you’re an animator, design funny mugs and tee shirts online on websites like Spreadshop and have the company make and deliver the merch for you. In the description of the store (and if you can tie it in, the product description) add a link to your Fiverr! If you promote this correctly, you could be paid by Etsy and eBay to advertise your gigs!

4 Change Your Cover Image And Demo Every So Often

If someone looks for a voice-over one month but isn’t interested in you the first time, that’s okay. Upgrade every so often (Quarterly or Bi-monthly) to get the same people to click on you and give you a second chance. Most people only pay attention to the demo and the picture, so if both are different, they will think you are a new person to consider. If they like your new demo, then they’ll be more likely to buy from you. Returning customers and regulars can get a custom order, so you don’t have to worry about old customers finding your new gig.

5 Work With Other Creators And Freelancers

Get in contact with other freelancers, both big wigs and small guys, and ask if they need any collaboration for projects. This could mean editing, tweaking, criticizing, proofreading, etc. And ask to do it for free. Why? Because instead, you're going to ask them to send any projects they can’t do (too long, too much work, not enough money, etc) to you, and for them to promote on their websites and social media. For every project you edit, ask them for a Facebook post, or an Instagram post (one at a time unless they offer more) This will get you free attention, and it will create a bond between you and another creator that will help you both succeed.

6 Get Friends To Pay You Back Through Fiverr

Did you pay for your friend's meal? Or did they ask you for money for that burger they just HAD to have? Get them to pay you back through gigs and have them leave a stunning review (with SEO keywords) or two, to boost both your ranking and conversion rate. If you really want them to do this make sure they use a new account, this way their reviews don't look like spam.

7. Put Up Flyers In Real Life

Business cards at local businesses and flyers in grocery stores (My local Raley’s does it and that’s where I’ve gotten the most attention) can boost your local sales. Promote business in your area and get the people to pay you through Fiverr to boost rankings and get more online attention.

9 Use An Eye-Catching Picture And Video

Make sure the thumbnail of your video looks good because that too is something people will look at. Don’t overload people with color and text. It should look like a clean billboard, not a TV commercial. Too many bold colors and clickbaity text makes the gig look cheap and unreliable. Try instead using in little text but enough to get the point across, stock photos, and look at billboards for inspiration.

10 Blog

Write a few 3-5 Blog posts on sites like Vocal or Medium, (Or here on Listverse!) these sites pay you for how many people read them. By writing an interesting story, and adding a link to your Fiverr profile or gig (make sure to tie the gig into your story somehow) you can end up being paid to advertise your gig. If you promote the posts enough, not only will you get paid from readers, but people looking for your specialty might link on the link and order from you!
