A Choice!

The Entrepreneur Lifestyle

Waking up in the morning is a blessing because no day is promised to us. Every day that I wake up I feel great and I love that. Being an entrepreneur has given me a chance to find out what it is like to run my own little work world. From the moment I get up until the time that I go to bed, I am in control of my life! I start each day with a few personal moments but then I start my workday. There is always a movie on when I write my itinerary for the day. I tend to loosen up when I watch a movie first, so I do. It is then onto business: petty cash check, phone calls on projects, email returns, app usage and what projects to start or finish. I always try to remember to do the most important project first then, but that does not always happen. There are many times when I will choose the project not finished from the day before instead. Being in control of what I want and need to do is a thrill for me. It was not always like this as I have worked for others companies.

I can still remember working for other people and it leaves me with mixed feelings, to be honest. It was hard for me having my pay go up and down. As well as only getting a raise once a year if we got a raise. There was a little office flirtation harassment but I quickly put that to an end by quitting. And as you can imagine when the company you work for isn’t functioning at its best the employees cannot make the changing decisions. I always found that to be a little funny because management always has a meeting to find out what the employees think should happen or just be included to the curriculum. Only to find out that they don’t intend to use any of the ideas of the employees. I want to make sure you understand that I don't mean all companies. I also want to mention that making friends isn’t always easy when it is placed in your mind from the beginning; let me explain. When you are interviewed or take a test for the job it is clear from the interviewer or the way the test is written the company comes first. That isn’t a bad thing but, then what when your job depends on a life choice concerning an employee (maybe your friend) when the company has to come first.

There was also a time that I owed and was a partner with an ex-husband and had a retail store I really liked working there. The space was purchased after we decided to take the website that I built/sold household products and gaming equipment out into the real world. That didn’t last because he made the decision to close it and no, it didn’t include my opinion. I also, with the same ex, was trying to do lingerie modeling shows live at a very famous and yes, decent venue. He put an abrupt end to that as well. Both decisions hurt me but taught me a lesson: It is to have control over your decisions! So I took matters into my own hands after the tears, I changed my pattern of counting on others so much. I created a new routine for myself which included exercise, prayer, changing my diet and forming a work plan. It took me 21 days to turn my life around into a new direction. I started with selling lingerie again, wrote a book (It is published now), created a website to help entertainers, freelancers and other entrepreneurs. Joined NAFE (National Association For Female Executives) but I am not there now. I then created a radio station, ITV station and two magazines. I am now an owner/partner/author, a great partner (not the ex) and I meet great people.

Just so you know the money changes also and you get a choice of the home, car, bank account size, travel destination and more! Moral of my whole story is, I am an entrepreneur and in control of my decisions now!
