Let's start with the growingly popular way of attracting attention on social media, Videos.

Videos

Videos are a big deal in social media, and do you know why? They present almost 80% of global online traffic. I guess you are not surprised, while today people's attention spam is shorter so they just see things that give them quick and easy to understand information. They will not spend their time reading a lot of text.

On Twitter, 82% of the users look at videos. Videos are also 6x more likely to be retweeted than photos and 3x more likely than GIFs.

And when do you use videos? Easy, when you are responding to tweets you can respond with a video. You can do a live video on Twitter to share an event that is happening at the real time. Do a How-to video, Tease a new product or an Upcoming event.

I will leave here some tips to help you in the process of creating and sharing videos on Twitter:

- Include a call-to action. Show to the audience what their next step is and they will be more likely to take it.

- Start your video with a Bang! An early story arc can cause an increase up to 58% of the users who continue watching the video past the fist 3 seconds. Include all the interesting information at the start.

- Include people. If you show people in your video in the first few seconds, it will have an increase of users still watching of 133%.

- Add text or subtitles. You should always put text in your video because videos with text are 11% more likely to be viewed.

- Keep it short. Choose videos of 15 seconds or less for your posts, they are more likely to drive memory encoding.
