What podcasts should you be listening to?

Podcasts may be a modern invention, but they have already revolutionized how we consume media and learn new skills. There are a million podcasts out there (or so it feels), meaning there's something for everyone.

That includes something for aspiring business owners and entrepreneurs. There are dozens of podcasts on this subject, making the idea of starting a business more approachable than ever. Here are some of the best business-focused podcasts worth checking out.

The Tim Ferriss Show

First up is The Tim Ferriss Show. This show has won multiple awards, including the "Best of" categories by Apple Podcasts. It's the perfect podcast for anyone wanting to learn the basics of running or owning a business. It covers everything from essential routines and habits to valuable insight from experts in the industry.

The Tim Ferriss Show is over four hundred episodes long (and counting), but don't let that intimidate you. This merely means you can pick and choose the most relevant episodes for your needs.

Entrepreneurs on Fire

Created and hosted by John Lee Dumas, Entrepreneurs on Fire aims to inspire new entrepreneurs and business owners. It has a backlog of over two thousand (yes, thousand) interviews with industry professionals. Some interviews include Seth Godin, Gary Vaynerchuk, and Tony Robbins.

This is the perfect podcast for anyone hoping to gain insight, inspiration, and a few tips and tricks. Entrepreneurs on Fire updates on a weekly basis, which means it can soon become the highlight of your week.

StartUp

StartUp is an essential podcast for anyone hoping to start their own business - as the name suggests. Created by Alex Blumberg, StartUp portrays the ups and downs of building, maintaining, and growing a business.

There are currently two seasons to this series, but it is going strong and will likely continue for several more years. Each season (so far) has a slightly different focus - a different startup each season!

How I Built This with Guy Raz

How I Built This with Guy Raz is, without a doubt, one of the most popular entrepreneurship podcasts available. It walks listeners through the creation of several foundational businesses, explaining how they became huge and successful.

The podcast features interviews with founders and entrepreneurs, enabling them to share their insights with the world. These interviews include the founders of companies such as Panera, The Knot, Zappos, and Lululemon.

Rework: A Podcast by Basecamp

Hosted by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson (co-founders of Basecamp), Rework is a podcast based on their bestselling book of the same title. Here they share their unconventional wisdom with the audience, picking up from where the book left off.

Much of this podcast is based on the hosts' experience with starting and running a business and includes tips on bootstrapping, business size, and more.

Masters of Scale

If you're looking for a podcast that only talks about big-name businesses and the minds behind them, you have to check out Masters of Scale. This podcast is perfect for any entrepreneur or business owner looking to up their game.

Some guests include Richard Branson, Susan Wojcicki, Phil Knight, Bill & Melinda Gates, etc. In other words, it really does cover all the big names in the business world!

Unemployable

This title may sound a little counterintuitive but stick with us for a moment. Unemployable is a podcast for entrepreneurs - the people who want to be running a business, not stuck somewhere in the middle of a machine.

Hosted by Brian Clark, Unemployable discusses his experience building a business, including his tips and tricks to success. The podcast updates every week and has an email newsletter as a bonus.
