Taking on the Dream Fulltime

This is not really the beginning of a new journey for me but rather a return to a childhood dream that I have bounced off to the side for far too long. I have been a writer as long as I have been old enough to pick up a pencil. I have worked as a writer within my business for nearly ten years but never allowed it to be my main focus out of fear that it would never be enough. I once read a quote by someone that said, “Do what you love and the money will follow.” This year I am doing just that and chasing full time writing with everything that I have.

How will I make this happen?

I will work primarily on Vocal.Media and Medium while running two blogs as well. One of the blogs will be focused on raising my son Everett who is Autistic and lives with DMDD and Psychosis as well. The other blog will primarily focus on my journey to full time writing and how others can make full time income writing as well. Each of these blogs will also have a podcast that I will record new episodes weekly. This is what the universe has been telling me to do for so long. Every time I start moving down another path, I get led back here. It is time to start listening to the universe.

The Lifestyle

While I work I will be in a full time RV living with my son and his therapy dog Bon-Bon. I know that in order to do this full time I will need to put in the hours and long nights and honestly I am so excited to do that to make this dream a reality. I will also be working on writing my first fiction novel this year as well. Dedicating time to this, I hope I can teach my son that as long as he goes after what he loves, everything else will fall into place. I feel more confident and happy about this choice than any other business I have gone into as a serial entrepreneur. I look forward to all the advice I can get!

In Conclusion

I have every hope in my body that this will become everything that I want it to be but that does not mean that I do not also have fear sometimes. I am a single mother to an amazing boy with special needs and 90% of the time everything is on me. What I will not do is give up and give my son an example that sometimes settling is for the best. Settling has brought me nowhere and I am ready to give this absolutely everything that I have got. The long nights and the tired mornings will be worth it when I know that I am doing what I love to do and am so passionate about. I cannot wait to see where this will take me.
