The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery
The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery is not about a blue castle, but that's part of it's charm. It's about a woman named Valancy who hates her life so much that the only time she's happy is when she goes to bed and can dissociate about anything she likes.

Heart's Key
When I was a little girl, I thought fairy tales were disappointing. Snow White was going to live with a bunch of short men with big noses and absolutely none of them are hot? Intentionally? Couldn't she do better for herself if she was so devastatingly beautiful? No? That seems disappointing.

Thank You Vocal
The year 2024 marks my third year as a member of Vocal.com. It’s funny how I actually found this platform by chance. A loved one mentioned to me and others in mixed conversation how they were interesting in possibly writing children stories online for a chance to possibly make some money in doing so. With writing being my passion that I was seeking to pursue I thought to myself “maybe I should give that a try and look for such a site. It might be a good stepping stone where I can stretch my legs as a writer. I am proud to say that it is certainly one of the best choices that I have ever made.

A FATHER'S WISDOM
# A FATHER'S WISDOM isdom My name is Emily, and this is the story of how my dad's unwavering support and timeless advice helped me navigate the tumultuous waters of college and ultimately succeed in life. ## Chapter 1: The First Day I remember my first day of college vividly. The campus was buzzing with excitement, but I felt a knot of anxiety in my stomach. As I unpacked in my dorm room, my dad stood by, his presence a comforting anchor in a sea of uncertainty. He handed me a small, leather-bound journal. "Write everything down, Em," he said. "Your thoughts, your goals, your struggles. It will help you make sense of things." I nodded, not fully understanding the significance of his words at the time, but I tucked the journal into my desk drawer, promising myself to use it. ## Chapter 2: The First Hurdle The first semester was a whirlwind. Between adjusting to new classes, making friends, and trying to find my footing, I felt overwhelmed. One particularly tough evening, after a grueling chemistry exam, I called my dad, tears streaming down my face. "Dad, I don't think I can do this," I confessed. He listened patiently, then shared a story from his own college days. "I failed my first major exam too," he said. "But remember, failure is not the end. It's a stepping stone. Learn from it, and you'll come back stronger." His words resonated with me. I wiped my tears, opened my journal, and wrote: "Failure is a stepping stone." ## Chapter 3: Finding Balance As the semesters rolled on, the workload increased. I found myself battling to balance academics, a part-time job, and a social life. One Sunday afternoon, during one of our regular phone calls, I voiced my frustrations. "Dad, I feel like I'm being pulled in a hundred different directions." He chuckled softly. "Life is all about balance, Em. Prioritize your tasks. Make a schedule and stick to it. But also remember to take time for yourself. You can't pour from an empty cup." Taking his advice to heart, I started organizing my days more efficiently. I scheduled study sessions, work hours, and also set aside time for relaxation and fun. Slowly, I found a rhythm that worked for me. ## Chapter 4: The Internship Search As my junior year approached, the pressure to secure a summer internship mounted. I sent out countless applications and faced just as many rejections. One evening, feeling particularly dejected, I called my dad. "Why is this so hard?" I asked, frustration evident in my voice. "Rejection is a part of the process," he reminded me. "Each 'no' brings you closer to a 'yes.' Keep refining your approach, learn from each experience, and don't give up." Motivated by his words, I revised my resume, practiced my interview skills, and kept applying. Eventually, I landed an internship at a prestigious company, a pivotal moment in my college career. ## Chapter 5: Graduation and Beyond Graduation day was a blur of excitement and nostalgia. As I walked across the stage to receive my diploma, I spotted my dad in the crowd, his face beaming with pride. Later that evening, we sat together, reflecting on the journey. "You did it, Em," he said, his eyes misty. "But remember, this is just the beginning. Keep learning, keep growing, and always stay true to yourself." ## Chapter 6: A New Chapter Armed with my dad's wisdom and the experiences I had gained, I embarked on my career. There were challenges, of course, but each time I stumbled, I remembered my dad's advice. I wrote down my thoughts, learned from my failures, balanced my life, persevered through rejection, and continued to grow. Years later, as a successful woman in my field, I often look back at that leather-bound journal. It's filled with scribbled notes, quotes, and reflections—a testament to my journey and my dad's unwavering support. ## Epilogue: A Legacy of Wisdom Today, as I mentor young women entering the workforce, I share the lessons my dad taught me. His wisdom has become a part of my legacy, guiding not just my path, but also the paths of those I have the privilege to mentor. My dad's advice was more than just words; it was a foundation upon which I built my life. And for that, I am eternally grateful. --- *Dad, this story is for you. Thank you for being my rock, my guide, and my greatest supporter. Your wisdom has shaped me into the woman I am today.*
