Even the best writers have times when they feel like they are stuck in a rut. They sit and stare at their computer screens, unsure about what to say. It is even worse when they have deadlines waiting for them. The stress is real and can feel overwhelming. This is commonly called writer's block and happens to the best of us.

Are you stuck in a rut? Don't have a clue about what you should write about? Here are some tips for dealing with writer's block.

If you don't have a looming deadline, it often helps to walk away. Staring at your computer screen is not productive at all. Sometimes, getting up and taking a short walk will help your creative juices. So, take a few minutes to walk away from your computer to do something fun. This break should let you recharge so that you can come back to your computer refreshed and ready to start back up.

It also helps to have a few extra blogs that are ready to go. You can use these whenever you have writer's block and need to publish a blog that day. So, anytime that your creative juices are flowing, write as much as you can. You don't have to publish everything that day. Instead, save them up for times when you really are struggling.

Many say that typing nonsense can often help them get back into writing. They believe that a blank screen can be hard to watch, so simply typing a few letters, words, or phrases, can help with that. Who knows, after a few phrases, you might be able to get back into writing!

If you can't write, you should use this as a time to brainstorm and do research for other blogs. We all know that there is more to writing than actually typing words into the computer. There is plenty of research that can be done, instead of wasting your time staring at the screen. You may even want to pull out your list of topics and spend a few minutes brainstorming. Who knows, you might come up with your next big topic.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. You don't have to write every blog on your page. In fact, many people like guest bloggers. This helps them grow their own audience, plus it helps you out when you can't write a single word. You may even want to hire someone to write a few blogs for you, for when this happens.

The simple truth is that, to be a blogger or professional writer, you need to have a schedule. When it is time to write and publish, you have to have something. However, writer's block happens to the best of us, and it can be really hard to figure out what to do.

Because of this, you should have a few extra blogs stored and ready to go. That way, you can publish on schedule, without the extra stress. If you aren't on deadline, you may just want to give your brain a break. Get up and walk outside. Enjoy the fresh air (or even just spend a few minutes sitting in the sun)!

Read some other blogs to see if it gives you some inspiration. You may also want to focus on research and topic brainstorming. This may be just what you need to start writing again! If you are still struggling, you may want to consider getting help. You might want to have a professional blogger write a blog for you once in a while, though you should never forget about the power of a good guest blogger!
