Blessed Cinco de Mayo to everyone; except those that believe the world’s socioeconomics and geopolitics are all copacetic right now. Seriously though, thank the Heavens that we as a society made it this far without the wheels flying off and such.

Conversely, rather than politics, I believe that the focal point here is a more or less halfway decent example of a cover letter (with minimal edits). This from an essentially lifelong electrical engineer (ceiling fans; dimmer switches; and wall mount TVs); no less.

Without further ado; and here’s to you, the reader–

Dearest [Redacted] Electric hiring staff,

Peaceful tidings and blessed morning to you all. I'm typing this brief missive to explain how and why I believe myself to be the best candidate for this particular listing.

While my electrical engineering experience may not be represented on my resume; I was strictly instructed as a youngster that, "A true magician never reveals all of his/her best tricks." Concise and to the point.

Speaking of which, my Pops was pushed into helping the family out with electrical servicing since he was a very small youngster. In turn, he outright refused to let me grow into a man that couldn't even turn a screwdriver; or, worse yet, work a ladder.

Thereby I went on many a job with him in my youth; even if it was just to change an outlet, or several, at a customer's house whilst under his supervision. Fast forward to my post military life.

Once I got out of the military, I had no idea what to do; besides attempt to keep my early mornings, full belly, and decent wallet at all costs. I have honestly wavered here and there, as has almost every American Vet with similar aspirations; in some way, shape, form, or fashion.

Regardless, the times when I was on hiatus from my other employers and exclusively working with my favorite Pops, I almost always met said goal with ease. Even when I didn't, I learned a lot and bonded with the Old Man.

Even recently we mounted a couple of TVs on a clients walls; which was essentially a first for me. The money was nice; and almost as cool as seeing the near instant gratification of the customer.

That is to say nothing of the fact that most men (and some women) sincerely wish that they too could mount a couple of TVs in a home with the guidance/assistance of their Pops. It is extremely regrettable and utterly unfortunate.

This is precisely why, if considered for hire, I plan to use some of my generous wages to support my apparel business; thereby increasing funding for some of my favorite nonprofits. One example being the Better Dad Society.

Never mind the fact that my own Princesses have Birthdays rapidly approaching; with one in less than three weeks even. I plan to give them both gifts on each other's Birthdays; Christmas; and Kwanzaa.

Additionally, I have another "bun in the oven", due to make [her] premiere in early Spring. Providing for them three is not optional for me.

In conclusion, and as previously alluded to, I would be forever grateful; thankful; and outright indebted to [Redacted] Electric for the mere consideration of my potential hiring. That is to say absolutely nothing of my immense gratitude if I am actually allowed to officially begin my career as a residential electrician with [Redacted] Electric.

Sincerely,

D. [Redacted]

P.S.– I had a very brief stint in the Local [26] Electrical Workers Union as a "residential" electrician. We were just building data centers though.

Also, I helped build a residential building in South East D.C. with a company called [Redacted] Electric. They went under after Covid struck the world; much to my chagrin.

Thank you again for your thoughtful consideration in this matter. Godspeed; God Bless; and God keep us all.

Prayerfully, you gained something pertinent (re: useful) from this post. If so, then please think about considering a show of support; however you may see fit.

Additionally, I'm easily reachable via Twitter. That's for private and/or public convos on the works written by me, my fav writers, as well as my other influences too.

The link in my bio will "counterintuitively" have that unmistakable tab in its footer menu. Invariably, there's a tab in the very main menu; cyclically returning you to my profile on this unfathomably superb site for writers.

Shoutout to all Vocal's inventors/staff/readers/writers. "[Y'all] the real MVP."

Lastly, if you're in the market for an incredulously original article of clothing or such: There's copious amounts at the aforementioned link in bio. Please don't believe for a NY minute that I'll be even remotely unappreciative of any all who "look out for the cookout".

Peace; blessings; and much Love, even. *Salute*.
