Wow...My 300th story.

I cannot believe that I have been writing on Vocal for almost four years now. The amount of growth that I have gone through as a person since I first started writing on this platform is insane to me. I don't resonate with a lot of my writing anymore as I am not the same person that I was back then when I first started publishing online. I joined Vocal for the challenges, and yes I may never win one, but I am still very proud of myself for trying anyways.

This is my first piece of writing that I felt like was worth publishing. But I am not that woman who wrote this anymore- even if I still am proud of her.

When I first started writing, I knew I wanted to use a pen name- I was going through a lot back at that time in my life and I needed an outlet for what was going on in my head. Rose Violet was who I was for the first little while before I decided to add my first name to my signature. I had been depressed for so long I went back to the source of my being- writing and creating.

Watching this platform grow, has been amazing. I felt like I found a tribe of people who understood what it was like to be misunderstood.

I tend to write about mental health, stories about my life, and about video games- pretty much anything that truly piques my interest.

Even though I never won a single challenge that I had entered, I did recieve a badge on my profile for "The Book Challenge" as a runner up! I was so excited. My grandma was a huge supporter in my writing, she thought it was good for myself and my mental health. She was right. I'll never forget the look on her face when I told her that I got runner up for this story.

After the birth of my third child, I took a step back from writing to focus on my family as I knew she was dying and my hands were full with the three young children in my care. I know my stats are nothing compared to some other members on here, but I am overwhelmed with the people that I have met on this platform and the community of writers that I have met.

I grew as a person since I began writing online all those years ago. I am not the same person, thanks to you guys. I owe a lot of you my full life story someday but I appreciate anyone who takes their time out of their day to read my writing. You saved my life until I was strong enough to save it myself. That is a debt I'll never be able to repay.

SO to anyone who has read my writing or followed me on social media.....

Thank you.

I don't want to quit writing, but I am about to start another new journey in my life. I'm through taking Udemy courses (I've taken quite a few since my youngest was born back in December) and I decided to go back to high school and upgrade my Grade 12 marks through a local college this next year. I am starting with two classes this semester and four next semester so I'll be a busy bee. Wish me luck! I'm bound and determined to create a life that will make my children proud and I always regretted my last year of school. It was hard on me but life happened and people change. I have changed.

To anyone that reads this, thank you for supporting me and my journey.

Stay close to me and follow my Facebook page or my Instagram account.

I love you guys. Keep on writing.
