“I appreciate these delivery apps, but sometimes it’s exhausting and tricky,” he says with a smirk. “You’ll get an order that looks perfect — something that feels like it’ll close out your day. Thirty dollars, quick Target run, maybe five items… you accept it thinking it’s simple.”

“Well… it never is. It’s always the most confusing order, especially if it’s your last one,” he adds with a laugh.

One night, a routine stop turned into something else entirely.

“I had a 7-Eleven run and didn’t even realize they sold pizza,” he says. “Next thing I know, I’m carrying out six large pizzas and about eighteen drinks.”

Getting it there became its own challenge.

“I felt like I was transporting something fragile,” he says. “Hazard lights on, driving slow — just trying not to hit a bump. Then you’ve got four flights of stairs… multiple trips.”

Even the simplest orders rarely stay simple.

“You’ll be walking through aisles trying to find things nobody’s ever heard of,” he says with a laugh. “The most specific, random items — things you didn’t even know existed until that moment.”

“The craziest thing is… everyone’s trying to normalize living in a completely different world,” he says. “There’s no such thing as pre-COVID life anymore. It really does feel like we’re living in a dystopian movie sometimes.”
