If the internet age is being revolutionized with the third generation dubbed Web 3.0 even before Web 2.0 has called its end; the business world could not be left out of this trend that already dominates the present and promises to bring great changes to the future of how we view the internet and digital business.

"To better understand this reasoning, we should separate things one by one."

Have you heard of Web 3.0?

In a short and objective definition from Wikipedia: Web 3.0 is the intelligent internet heralded as the third wave of the Internet, which projects to structure all content available on the World Wide Web within the concepts of the Semantic Web.

And What is the Intelligent Internet?

The Intelligent Internet is the Internet that brings together the characteristics of yesterday's and today's Internet, adding elements of artificial intelligence, through the continuous collaboration between man and machine. In other words, the future promises a freer, more secure digital experience, without centralization of power.

Below are examples of Web 3.0 that you may already be using and don't know you've moved to a new horizon.

If you have migrated from Google Chrome to Brave Browser, or you are writing blog posts on Publish0x, or you are seeing a new Twitter for creators born after creating an account on BitClout, or you have started writing blog posts on the new publication called CloutPub, or you are a cryptocurrency investor, then know that you are using Web 3.0.

"Welcome to the future."

"Web 3.0 is exactly the decentralization of the digital system in its completeness. Where platforms give power and freedom to creators broadly."

Now that you have more or less some idea of what is being talked about when engaging in Web 3.0, let's understand where Medium and Vocal come into that aspect.

---

How do Medium and Vocal become the best business ever created for the Web 3.0 era?

Medium and Vocal were launched in the era of Web 2.0, an era that is still going on even though people are already talking a lot about Web 3.0. But what dominated Web 2.0?

What dominated Web 2.0 are innovative platforms with totally revolutionary systems for the digital market. If previously to read a copy of a magazine, newspaper or telegram you had to buy the printed copy from the issuing company, Medium and Vocal brought what we now call ease of access. Although the two platforms were launched years apart; both platforms, are making available and innovating what the traditional service was struggling to deliver to the public in physical form and now in digital form.

To read a newspaper today, you no longer have to wait for the next day until the story is printed and distributed to the streets or to your mailbox. Through digital platforms, you have unlimited access to unlimited and innovative content to stay informed. It is different from paying monthly to a newspaper distributor, you can simply pay your monthly package and read whatever you want, from any creator within the platform and anywhere in the world. Unlike many newspapers and magazines that would require many subscriptions to read all the issues from each distributor.

For example: if an author you love writes in The New York Times, another writes in Forbes, and another in The Guardian; you would have to pay three times to read the contents of these authors the day these companies, could send a printed copy in your mail. Medium and Vocal have innovated on that side. So much so that many newspaper companies are now betting on digital reading, and physical newspapers are almost disappearing worldwide.

Now, with the arrival of Web 3.0, how will Medium and Vocal fit in?

Web 3.0, is being spread as the fully decentralized Web. Where platforms will be fully involved in decentralization when acting in the digital system. In other words, those who want to be part of the digitalized future will have to dance to the music of technological evolution.

What about Medium and Vocal, which are centralized platforms?

How can centralized platforms do well in the Web 3.0 era?

Medium and Vocal's business models are revolutionary businesses that can grow at any time in the digital age. No matter if we are living a new model, through technology, hybrid platforms, will survive more innovative times than their time of creation.

Medium and Vocal will be able to subsist in this era of Web 3.0 in three phases.

1 - Algorithm

If the algorithm of both platforms is centralized, just decentralize the algorithm and move on with their owners. Centralized platforms, can simply decentralize an area of performance that influences how one operates in the market, without the platform necessarily being forced to decentralize. Just as Tesla decided to accept Cryptocurrencies by selling its Teslas, and then chose to simply take a break.

2 - Subscription Model

Most decentralized platforms that are appearing on the web, work with the digital payment system in digital currency; some with subscriptions that will allow you to enjoy the content unlimitedly,(BitClout). Medium and Vocal already do this; however with fiat currencies.

The funding model of Medium and Vocal, although not done through digital currency, is something that can be done at any time it is appropriate. Not least because of digital currency, its reflection is fiat currencies when we don't want to take to Stablecoins. Today we see companies like Mastercard, PayPal, and Tesla using Cryptocurrencies; it is normal that Medium and Vocal, in the not too distant future, may accept their subscriptions and make payments through Cryptocurrencies.

3 - Business

Medium and Vocal are ambitious businesses; only those who haven't yet caught on to the innovative world haven't noticed. The content creators who are succeeding on these platforms will never stop contributing to the growth of the platform, allowing their work to be supported and consumed around the world. And whether in the age of cryptocurrencies or another age, Medium and Vocal have hit the nail on the head when they thought up and created this business model, where creators could build their audiences around the world and still be supported for their work in a relational way.

Businesses that may not work in a fully digitalized and decentralized future, are businesses that lack sponsorship from advertisers and traditional models.

Medium and Vocal did not necessarily need to become decentralized from the start to be decentralized platforms in the future.

Let Web 3.0 come with full force.

So, did you know that we are already living in a new era of the Internet?
