Hello, everyone! Thanks so much for checking out my new article!

Today, I want to discuss a career change my husband and I made that truly changed our lives for the better!

I always struggled to find my calling: the career I wanted. I knew I wanted to be a writer, but I do NOT want to write for a living. I personally think making your income rely on your creative passion strangles the life out of that passion!

So I did some research: considered growing gourmet mushrooms in the basement bathroom, getting into the black bamboo business, or building a bonsai tree nursery... but then I noticed an article authored by "The Selling Family." The mother and wife from the family had lost her job many years ago and, in a tanking economy, had to do something fast to help her husband—who was miserable at his job—make ends meet. She started out finding discounted and liquidated items to sell on eBay, but then she discovered a magical program known as FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon).

In a nutshell, FBA means you—as a seller—find items you want to sell on Amazon and send all of your inventory to Amazon warehouses. From there, when someone buys your product, Amazon will deal with the customer service and shipping that item to the buyer. Not only that, but—if you pay the $39.99 monthly subscription fee—you can be a business seller who offers customers Amazon Prime shipping on every item you sell.

Now that I've briefly defined what we now do for a living, let me specify a few things:

This is NOT a get-rich-quick deal or a pyramid scheme! It's a lifestyle where, for what you put into it, you will receive around the same in profit (if not double or more)!

This is NOT an easy or comfortable path to take, although it WILL end up easier and more comfortable with every passing month! (I've been at this for around four months now and am already seeing incredible results, having profited an average of $1000/month, now more around $1500 and still growing.)

You DO need startup money, but not as much as many other self-employment projects would take. (To be specific, my fiancé and I initially invested $1500 into this once we'd done our research on the business plan. You can invest less, even a mere $300-500 if you'd like, but the more you invest, the more quickly your profits will grow!)

I'm going to be honest with you. I was terrified of taking this leap of faith, but it turned out SO worth it for me!

Any Questions?

#1 You may ask, "How many hours do I have to invest in this?"

Though there are a few methods to selling on Amazon, my husband and I currently use the method titled, "Retail Arbitrage." With this method, I smile even thinking about the answer to how much time is invested. You get to choose.

To sum it up, you will spend most of your time "sourcing"—which means going to stores or surfing online stores, scanning inventory to see if it's profitable, and buying that inventory. Plus, any and all time you spend researching profitability, tricks to make your business more successful, etc. will be so beneficial! (I can recommend some information, but know that I've only been doing this for about four months now. I will also refer my readers to the experts I consult!)

Finally, you spend a smaller portion of your time labeling, prepping, and packing up the inventory to ship to warehouses. From then on, for that particular inventory, you do very little except change prices and occasionally investigate some errors that may occur with customers or Amazon processing your inventory.

#2 "How Much Did The Selling Family Help You?"

The Selling Family helped me immensely! I spent somewhere around $300 on their Amazon Boot Camp (ABC), which is essentially online course material made of videos and some writing materials wholly designed for teaching you how to be an Amazon seller. The camp also grants you access to becoming a member of their Facebook group, where you can post and read past posts all regarding what other sellers are going through. I would highly recommend using their boot camp if this sounds remotely interesting. They are very good at what they do and so friendly!

#3 "How Much Money Can I Really Make Off of This?"

You would be surprised, amazed even! It isn't immediate, but the longer you do the business, the better it will be for you. For every item we consider, we look to make at least 50% of the original cost (including tax) in profit. That means if we spend $20 on an item, we look for at least a $10 profit on each one.

I recommend spending what you can on inventory, supplies, teaching materials such as ABC to start out (maybe $300 for ABC and $400 for inventory), and watch your business grow as you follow through! I don't recommend quitting your day job just yet, but you can certainly get to the point where that is an option!

The Selling Family got to the point where they do this full time and make six figures; she was able to get her husband out of his crappy job. Now, they work home together. As a newly married woman, I can testify that it is exactly where I would want to be: self-employed, working from home, always around my husband!

This really works, my friends. I may write another, more involved article later, when I've spent more than a year doing this business (as I started in May 2019), but, for now, you don't even have to take my word for it! Check out The Selling Family; they really are wonderful and have been doing this for years!

Thank you so much for reading! And, if you think this really is for you, I wish you all the luck in the world! ^_^ Enjoy the treasure hunt!
