A beautiful Ladla was born on December 11, 1922 in the family of Lala Ghulam Sarwar in Mohalla Khudada, Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. His name was Yusuf Khan. His mother's name was Ayesha Begum Thaglam Sarwar Khan. When Yusuf was only six years old, his father moved to Mumbai with his whole family. By then, the subcontinent was not divided.

After moving from Peshawar to Mumbai, Yusuf went to school and college there. He was suggested to adopt the name Dilip Kumar instead of Yusuf Khan. Dilip Kumar's first film as an actor was 'Jawaar Bhata' released in 1944. It was not a very successful film at the box office but its true identity in the film industry was in 1960. Dilip Kumar, who played the role of Prince Saleem in the historical film 'Mughal-e-Azam', became a Mughal during his film career.

He made only 63 films in his film career. In 1947, he acted in the film 'Jagnu' with Noor Jahan and this film was a success at the box office.

The heroine of this film was Nargis. Her brilliant style and excellent accent made her a popular star in this film. After the great success of Andaz, her very memorable film journey began. He made the film Deedar in 1951 and his famous film Dag was released the following year. He was awarded the first Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Dag. In 1955, his hometown film 'Devdas' came out and for this he was also awarded the Filmfare Award. Presented in such roles, he recorded such indelible impressions of his artistic talents that he was awarded the title of Tragedy King and then this title became his identity.

Over time, his prestige in Bollywood grew. And cast in many movies for the same romantic hero. Successful films like 'Azad', 'Insaniyat' and 'Koh Noor' are testament to the fact that Dilip Kumar also left a great tradition as a romantic hero. While his film Mughal Azam, released in 1960, was a masterpiece in itself, the essence of his acting in the role of Mughal Prince Saleem was acknowledged by all. Kranti, Vadhata and Karma are considered to be the best films in Bollywood, which were also super hits at the box office.

The film 'Sodagar' with Raj Kumar and 'Shakti' with Amitabh Bachchan are also notable films, in which he presented a different style and identity while working with his contemporary superstars. His last on the big screen The movie 'Qila' came out in 1998. Dilip Kumar has won the Filmfare Award several times and in 2015 was awarded India's second highest civilian award 'Padma Bhushan' and in 1994 the highest film award 'Dada Sahib Phalke Award'.

In 1997, the government of Pakistan also awarded Dilip Kumar its highest civilian honor, the Nishan-e-Imtiaz. The Congress party nominated Dilip Kumar for the upper house of parliament, the Rajya Sabha, and he remained a member of parliament for six years.

At one time, Dilip Kumar had a lot of discussions with his fellow actresses. The name of Kamni Koshal comes first in it. Much has been written about his relationship with Madhu Bala. He had be friended Madhu Bala during the shooting of the film Tarana and it is said that this romance lasted for seven years.

Since then, a lot has been written about her affair with actress Vijanti Mala. The duo of Dilip Kumar and Vijanti Mala was also very successful on screen. Dilip Kumar did most of the work with him. In 1966, Dilip Kumar got married for the first time to actress Saira Bano, who was 22 years younger than him. In 1981, he got married for the second time to Asma Sahiba, a woman from Hyderabad.

However, this second marriage did not last long and they divorced in 1983. Dilip Kumar did not have any children from these two wives. Saira Bano and Dilip Kumar traveled to Mecca in 2013 and performed Hajj together. Legendary actor Dilip Kumar, who ruled the film industry for a long time, has passed away at the age of 98.

The news of Dilip Kumar's death has been announced on his confirmed Twitter account by his spokesperson Faisal Farooqi. Dilip Kumar died on July 7 at 7:30 AM.
