According to the mission, it has been providing housing and transportation to students in Ternopil whenever possible.

378 Pakistanis are waiting to cross the Ukraine-Poland border, while six are waiting to cross the Ukraine-Hungary border.

The embassy reiterates that it is "making every effort" to evacuate all Pakistani people.

In a "information sheet" on its evacuation operations, the Pakistani Embassy in Ukraine declared that there is currently "no safe location" in the nation.

According to the Pakistani mission, 4,000 expatriates have left the nation on its advise, the majority of whom are married to Ukrainians.

On the other side, 3,000 Pakistani students were studying in Ukraine, with 600-700 still in the country and the remainder having already gone on the embassy's suggestion.

"The mission has provided students with lodging in Ternopil and transportation whenever possible, particularly from Lviv to border crossings," the mission stated.

In the “fact sheet”, the embassy shared that a night curfew has been imposed in different cities of Ukraine including Kharkiv, Lviv, and Ternopil. It added that a day-night curfew has also been imposed in Kyiv for the last 24 hours.

The Pakistani mission added that the Ternopil district administration has also “advised people to keep their lights off and remain in safe places”.

“Now, there is no safe place in Ukraine. And even cities like Lviv and Ternopil, which are in the west of Ukraine, have been hit,” said the mission.

The embassy said that “as of today, trains tickets are available from Kharkiv to Lviv and Ternopil”. It added that the majority of the students from Kharkiv have already reached Lviv and departed for the Poland border.

“Pakistanis are being evacuated from Ternopil and Lviv to Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania. The Embassy of Pakistan in Ukraine is coordinating with respective Pakistani missions for onward facilities,” said the embassy.

The mission reiterated that the embassy is “making all possible efforts” to evacuate all Pakistani citizens.

"The Ukrainian government is dysfunctional, but the Embassy is doing everything it can to help Pakistanis flee Ukraine," the missioner added.

While praising its efforts, it also revealed that Ambassador Dr. Noel Khokhar met with Ukraine's deputy interior minister on Saturday to discuss ways to make it easier for Pakistani citizens to leave the country. The delegation has also requested a meeting with the commander of crossing points on the Ukraine-Poland border to discuss the "problem of Pakistanis stuck on the Ukrainian side."

Evacuation efforts' outcomes

The mission said that 156 Pakistani citizens were evacuated as a result of the evacuation. Students, community members, and staff members' families make up the total.

378 Pakistanis, on the other hand, are awaiting departure at the Ukraine-Poland border crossing, while six are awaiting departure at the Ukraine-Hungary border crossing.

15 students from Kharkiv have arrived at the Lviv facilitation desk, while 25 students are travelling from Kyiv to Lviv, according to the mission. At least 23 students are travelling from Poltava to Lviv, and three students have arrived at the desk from different places.

On the other hand, seven students have reached Ternopil.
