A trip to Dubai is an experience that most travellers will never forget. With its modern skyscrapers, deserts, shopping destinations, and cuisine, there is something for everyone to enjoy. However, if you have only a weekend to spend exploring, don’t worry. You can see the best parts of Dubai if you plan your trip in advance.

Day 1: Discover the Iconic Side of Dubai

Start your weekend by exploring Dubai’s most modern side. Leave your hotel, NH Collection Dubai The Palm early morning and head to the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa. Travel to the the observation deck on top to see beautiful views of the Dubai skyline, desert, and coastline. It is best to go early so that you can beat the crowds.

Next, visit the Dubai Mall, known for its huge aquarium. Here, you can easily spend several hours window shopping and enjoying the atmosphere. Have lunch at one of the many international restaurants. These serve everything from Middle Eastern dishes to international fare.

In the afternoon, you can take a walk around Downtown Dubai and watch the famous Dubai Fountain show. The choreographed water show with the Burj Khalifa in the background is something you can’t afford to miss.

As the sun starts to set, head to Dubai Marina. The promenade is perfect for a leisurely walk, with the yachts and skyscrapers in the background. Consider going on a dhow cruise dinner to enjoy the skyline while you sit down to a delicious meal.

Day 2: Culture, Beaches, and Relaxation

On your second day, travel to Al Fahidi Historical District in the morning. This is known to be one of the oldest areas of Dubai. The neighbourhood has many narrow streets with traditional wind tower designs, art galleries, and museums. While there, you can visit the Dubai Museum or the Coffee Museum.

After visiting the Al Fahidi Historical District, take an abra across Dubai Creek. This is a classic experience that you shouldn’t miss, especially if you want a break from the glitz of Dubai. When you get across, visit the Gold Souk and Spice Souk.

Come midday, change gears and head towards the coastal areas. The beaches of Dubai are amongst its biggest attractions, with clear waters and amazing views. This area is also home to some of the best hotels on the palm in Dubai, which offer a luxurious getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Spend your afternoon relaxing on the beach, or go for a swim in the warm waters of the Arabian Gulf. There are even fun water sports available if you’re up for some adventure. The Palm Jumeirah is another place you should see, and is known for its unique palm-tree shape.

Evening: A Taste of Dubai’s Luxury

End your weekend by going on a memorable night out. Consider having dinner at The Palm or Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR). These locations have numerous trendy restaurants, bars, and cafés. They have a wide selection of restaurants, ranging from upscale dining to casual dining by the beach.

If you’re up to it, you could also check out Dubai’s nightlife scene. Dubai has a lot to offer when it comes to nightlife, with numerous bars and clubs to choose from. Alternatively, you could take a leisurely walk on the beach and enjoy the skyline at night.

Tips for First-Time Visitors

If you want to make the most out of your weekend, it is best to plan your transportation in advance. The metro in Dubai is quite convenient, and most major attractions can be accessed easily by the metro. Taxis are also readily available.

When you’re visiting cultural attractions, it is often recommended to dress modestly. However, in resort areas, you can wear your beach attire.
