How To Increase Your YouTube CPM To Over $20?

I have started a YouTube channel over 3 years ago in June 2017. My journey was amazing. I wasn't active for the first two years while for the last 1 year I have uploaded over 170+ videos and got near to 5,000 subscribers with over 15K watch hours. To get monetized on YouTube, you need at least 1,000 subscribers and over 4,000 public watch hours. Making videos is hard and if you are getting views then how you could optimize your videos to make more money of your views aka CPM.

CPM stands for Cost-Per-Mile which means how much is you are earning, or the advertiser is paying per 1,000 views. Some of my videos have a CPM of over $40 while others have $20, some videos have a CPM of over $2. Why is this fluctuation in CPM? There might be different reasons for this which we will explain in this article.

YouTube is quite an attractive platform. If you have information about anything, you record yourself, and upload it. I know this isn't as simple as looks as there is a lot of editing and making your video the right way stuff involved.

Factors that affect your YouTube Videos CPM:

1. The Demography of your viewers: Possibly the number 1 factor that could determine your earnings on YouTube. If most of your viewers are from developed economics then you could make more money. I am a YouTuber with good experience. If you are getting good viewers from third-world countries, you might end up not getting more money but you could get subs and more deals but not the YouTube money.
2. The Niche: Niche or the topic of your videos also plays an important role in getting a good CPM. If you keep the demography of your viewers at constant then the factor that could affect your earnings is the niche of your channel in whole and the videos in specific.

There are other factors like the length of your YouTube videos, the engagement rate, and how loyal your audience is to you. All these factors play an essential role in deciding your YouTube videos CPM.

How to increase your YouTube Videos CPM?

Following are some of the ways to increase your YouTube videos CPM.

(1) Target search traffic

There are two ways through which you can target search traffic; Getting viewers through YouTube search, the second way is to target Google search traffic. Search traffic has high intent and that is why YouTube displays high-CPM ads on your YouTube videos. There are great lessons about Video Search Engine Optimization (Video SEO) and ranking your YouTube videos in the Google search engine.

Traffic from developed economics and search traffic is where you could do wounder online.

Search traffic is one of the best ways to get a high amount of money. One of my videos has a CPM of over $40 and this video has the following features;

• The video is longer than 12 minutes and has multiple ads. It has up to 4 ads in it.
• Most of the viewers are from developed countries, primarily from the United States.
• That specific video is ranked on top of the YouTube search and Google search engine.

4 (2) Long-form videos:

Long-form videos could make you more money as more ads are displayed. YouTube enabled you to display more ads if your video is longer than 8-minutes. As CPM definition is "The total money you made through 1,000 views" if a single (1 View) gets 3 or 4 ads then you will make more money compared to the videos that are shorter than 8-minutes.
