So, you finally figured out the main topic for your blog – now what? How do you know what to write about every week? Where do you even start?

Yes, having a blog can be a daunting task. Trust me, I know. My whole blog has been a trial period, and there is nothing wrong with that. At least you are trying. There are plenty of people sitting there thinking about blogging. But instead of putting themselves out there, they are stuck in the thinking phase.

So, how can you find topics for your blog? Here are some tips.

Make a list of questions that people might ask about your topic.

It might help to think of all of the questions that you had when you first started.

Remember those graphs that you made in school? With the bubbles?

Put your topic in a bubble and start making branches. Continue branching out until you have a ton of topics to write about.

Get a piece of paper and just write out some thoughts.

Sometimes, possible topics may make you think of more topics. Do this for a few minutes.

Google it.

Often if you type in a word (your topic), you will probably be able to find several topics to write about.

Look at your competition.

DO NOT copy their blogs, but maybe if you read a few posts, it will help to get your mind flowing. Maybe you have something to add to their post, or you might have an opposing point of view.

Look through your old posts.

Have you learned something new to add to a post? Maybe you can recycle a post.

Try to have some on hand for days when you simply can’t write a word.

There are going to be days when you can’t write, no matter how hard you try. It helps if you have a few blogs handy to post, instead of trying to work through your writer's block.

Do something else and come back.

There is no point in sitting and staring at a screen. Get up and take a walk. Read and relax. Find something fun to do. Come back later when you are able.

You can also hire someone else to help you write your blog posts.

Whether you buy one or two here and there when you need some help, or you have someone write them every week, it is up to you. There is nothing wrong with getting a little help. Maybe I can help you today!

There are going to be days when writing does feel like a job. Be sure that you have a few spare posts in case you can’t think of anything. You should also spend a few minutes brainstorming a list of topics that you want to write about. You can always pull this out when you don't know where to start. Just don't forget to add to it as you think of new topics to write about.

You may also want to Google your keywords and see if you can find something to write about. Answer some questions or make lists (which might help you find more topics). You may even want to revisit an old topic. You might have learned some more about it and want to add to your old blog. Spending some time with the competition might help. You might feel like you could write a better blog that is more in-depth. Maybe you don't agree with him or her at all. Write about how you feel. You just need to make sure that you don't copy it. Sometimes you just need to walk away and come back later.
