How To Become Laser-Focused With Just A Piece Of Paper

Monday's are the most important day of the working week. How are you starting them?

It is Monday! The day when we have a decision to make on our week.

Now before I continue, there was a blog that was meant to go out yesterday on relaxing, but it did not meet the minimum word limit for this site, which is why it was not posted.

However, I am back and here is my lesson for the day!

Do we allow ourselves to be distracted by what happened last week? Do we set amazing goals that we are going to smash? All is possible because it is the start of the working week in the United Kingdom.

Yesterday I talked a little about taking time off and relaxing, but now it is time to get focused.

That is what I am going to cover today. How to be zoned into your Mondays to ensure that your week is productive.

Monday is the day where you make your weekly plan for what you want to achieve in the week (for other countries that is Sunday).

But how we get laser-focused is really up to you.

What I mean by that is you know what your goals need to be but more importantly what targets you need to hit. The reason I focus on targets over goals is that goals cannot be measured where targets can be. You either hit that target or you did not. There is no in-between.

So what is your target for the week? What is the one target that is going to move your needle closer to your dreams? What are the five actions you are going to take in order to reach that target this week? Which action are you going to take today?

We live in this fast-flowing world and it is hard to be laser-focused these days, with emails constantly coming in, social media updates that come out of nowhere, breaking news alerts.

It can be difficult to achieve anything. That is where your focus has to come in. This is why you need to write down the five tasks you are going to do this week to then hit that target which projects you towards your goal.

Targets do not have to be difficult. My target for this week is to comment/reply on 200 posts on Instagram and Facebook.

See this target can be measured, did I do it yes or no.

Now by doing this it will help me build my own Instagram and Facebook accounts, which is the goal. Now that means each day I need to comment on 40 posts, which is five an hour. This gives me that laser focus to put down the phone, silence emails for about 20 minutes of each hour to get this done.

Then I can do the busy work that I have to do in order to survive and get money. It is that simple.

We as human beings like to make this topic complex, by having all these apps and folders in our email boxes. We like to pretend that we need all of this to blackout the fast-paced world all around us. But we simply don't.

If you have just a slight bit more focus for 20 minutes an hour, that means in a 7-hour workday you will have been super highly productive for 2 hours 20 minutes.

Imagine all the work you could get done in a no distraction, no email, no social media, no talking to colleagues 2 hours and 20 minute day!

This is totally possible, by a simple plan, a simple daily task a simple weekly target all to reach that seemingly impossible goal.

You have the choice this week to be ordinary or you can be extraordinary.

The choice is yours.

What are you going to choose?
