The secret strategy has been revealed.

When I first started on Medium, I knew that sharing my writing with the world would be a hard commodity. Luckily, I trusted my gut feeling about the platform and became a creator by finally deciding to join the Medium Partner Program.

I’ve written 80+ countless stories that took a large amount of time to produce and the results are finally showing. I finally earned over $100 on Medium in just four months and you can do it too if you follow these steps.

If you aren’t already a Medium member, you could be missing out on a good side hustle that’s only going to get bigger and better. Become a member today and use my referral link to sign up for only $5 a year.

These same steps can be applied to Vocal Media as well. The original article is on my Medium profile.

By the time this month comes to an end, I managed to earn $50 in just September alone. When you look at my earnings, it’ll show how patience and hard work can generate results sooner than you think and I want to use this as motivation towards you.

Truth is, anyone can generate these results no matter how new of a writer you are. The more you know and research about Medium, SEO optimization, and social media marketing the faster you’ll grow. Believe it or not, a lot more writers are making this kind of money in their sleep.

I’ve learned a lot about Medium over the months. I’m not yet a professional but this information I’m about to tell you is exactly what lead me to earn over $100 on Medium in four months as a beginning writer.

How To Make $100 on Medium Relatively Fast

  • Patience
  • Posting twice a day occasionally
  • Replying back to comments
  • Joining writers live sessions
  • Adding a CTA to every article
  • Email Marketing

Patience

“To lose patience is to lose the battle”

-Gandhi

If you aren’t prepared to have the bad days where you’re struggling with 5 views a day and you putting your heart and soul into your writing then you don’t deserve to get the good days where you’re getting100 views a day without having to write anything. Just like any other social media platform, Medium will offer you a fresh batch of anger and frustration because of the lack of views and attention they give to your stories but if you use that as a form of motivation, then you have the recipe for success.

My most popular article didn’t even blow up until about a month after it was posted and all of the sudden, it was getting more attention.

If you want to be successful at Medium, have patience.

In this day and age, it seems like we never have the time for anything. The most patient of people is the one’s you discover the most success. Trust me, I’ve had bad days on Medium where I check my stats expecting to see a high number and it ends up being far less than I thought.

Occasionally posting twice a day

Now I know how hard it is to write every day. When writing a story not only do you have to focus on the actual context, writers also have to focus on extra details like providing backlinks, affiliate marketing strategies, email marketing, etc.

I’ll give you a challenge… Try it at least once a week routinely and see what happens with your stats at the end of that month compared to the one before.

The stories you create don’t even have to be long reads. Instead of posting a six-minute article, you could just choose to create two 3 minute articles instead to increase your chances of going viral.

Replying back to comments

Responses are huge for the algorithm.

Any engagement at all is helping to push your article to get recognized by Medium and hopefully get curated.

If you get a response to a story, reply to it. Not only will that show more engagement in your post, but it’ll also let the reader know that you are interested in the conversation.

Some writers tend to not reply to their comments. The people you reply to might end up coming back to your profile and checking out more of your stories.

Joining writer’s email newsletters

Lately, the read ratio of my articles has been relatively lower than usual. I still have much learned about writing and I’ve taken the time to educate myself by listening to other writers' advice. That’s why I decided to join writing/blogging tutorial email newsletters.

When I saw writers like Tim Denning had newsletters to give advice on how to write better on Medium, I just had to get in. I’ve done a couple of hours of researching and that’s usually the recommended time because you don’t want to spend all day doing it.

Adding a CTA to every article

95% of my articles have a CTA. A CTA (call-to-action) is when you link something of yours to an article you create with the goal of that reader discovering more about you and your content.

The most common call-to-actions I use is linking a social media platform on my stories to let the readers connect with me on a different platform.

A great way of having a CTA when it comes to business and marketing is by creating a unique landing page for it. If you want to make a lot of money writing, you should treat it as a business and learn the basics of marketing. More people click on those links you put than you think.

The purpose is to convince a reader to do a certain action. Don’t overdo it though because it’s obvious when someone pushes it and it instantly makes the reader exit out of your article. In the ending, provide a short sentence with a simple CTA linking to another story you wrote or a social media account you have. It’s all up to you!

Email Marketing

Email marketing will forever be the best way of making money online.

Get ahead of the game while you still can, I thought I could avoid learning it because of how boring it sounded but it’s worth it once you fully understand the basics.

If you create a newsletter and give valuable information, go for the sale in the end and try putting in an affiliate link to whatever website you’re affiliated to.

Email newsletters have a 23.4% open rate and a 17.8% click-through rate. Those are good stats and email marketing is looking like it’ll never become irrelevant now because of all of the big writers using it.

Takeaway

So, there you have it. Some of these reasons may help me more than you because we all learn in different ways. And you can’t forget the one thing you need, a little bit of good luck.

Whether you’re a new writer who just started now or have been writing on Medium for years, using these methods will help you increase your views, and thus, your work expands to more people.

You have to be willing to put in the work if you want to make money fast on Medium. The only reason why I managed to complete my goal is because of the focus I put in. Avoid distractions in any way possible and keep your eyes on the prize.
