Getting scammed is a painful experience, especially when you put in time and effort into something that you thought would bring you some money. Unfortunately, I learned this lesson the hard way when I fell victim to a scam on Telegram.

It all started when I received a message from someone on fiverr about a content writing work claiming to be a company representative and telling me to contact them on telegram, who was looking for writers to create content for their website. I was thrilled at the opportunity since I had been looking for some freelance writing work. They even showed me some sample articles to convince me of their legitimacy.

However, the catch was that I had to pay a commission upfront before I could start working on the project. They assured me that this was just to prove my commitment and it was their work policy blah-blah-blah and that they would pay me back along with the agreed-upon fee once the work was completed and guess what! I fell for it. I was skeptical at first, but they seemed so convincing and professional that I let my guard down.

I paid the commission as requested and started working on the project. I submitted the work on time and waited for my payment, but nothing happened . When I followed up with the company representative, they gave me excuses such as payment processing delays and technical issues and that they were busy ad blocked me! THE AUDACITY. They even asked for more commissions to speed up the payment process.

Eventually, I realized that I had been scammed. I tried to report the fraud to Telegram, but it was too late, and the scammers had already disappeared without a trace. I looked for the Fiverr ID through which I contacted them on telegram and it was gone vanished into thin air.

This experience taught me a valuable lesson about being careful when dealing with online transactions and always verifying the legitimacy of the company or person you are dealing with. I learned to trust my instincts and not let my desire for work blind me to potential scams.

The aftermath of the scam was devastating. I had not only lost the commission I paid but also the time and effort I put into the project. It was frustrating to think that I had fallen for a scam that was so obvious in hindsight.

I tried to contact the company representatives and the Telegram support team, but all my attempts to get my money back proved futile. It was clear that I had no recourse, and I had to move on and learn from my mistakes.

But then another day an email ID was dropped in my Fiverr telling me to contact it for a copywriting gig, I was skeptical about this one too but went on with it, they sent me the work did not ask for payment so I thought maybe it was legit

I did my work and sent it back to them and guess what, I was again in the spiral of paying some commission before getting paid, but this time I did not pay them and confronted them instead and in return obviously they stopped responding to my emails and I was devastated yet again.

After this experience, I became more cautious about working with unknown individuals or companies on the internet. I started researching and verifying the legitimacy of every opportunity that came my way. I also learned to trust my intuition and to say no to anything that seemed too good to be true.

Furthermore, I started educating myself on how to recognize and avoid online scams. I read articles and watched videos on the subject and started following scam awareness groups on social media. I also became more vigilant in reporting any fraudulent activities that I came across to the relevant authorities.

In conclusion, getting scammed was a painful lesson, but it taught me a lot about being careful and diligent when dealing with online transactions. It also made me realize that there are many scammers out there, and it's important to be vigilant and to stay informed to avoid falling victim to their schemes.
