Getting the views you want.

As you may see in the title, this story will be about how to get views on Social Media platforms in 2020 as a content creator. A lot of us are great at putting content out there, but we strive for the views. It seems that it's a constant battle of tricks and tips, and even articles like this one that I am writing. I want to share with you a few tips I have been learning during quarantine about how to get eyes on your content, and produce the views you have imagined. I'll keep this short for you.

The first thing that you want to do is really get peoples eyes on your content, so that it doesn't suffer and get lost with only a couple hundred views on it. The content itself, is hands-down the most important part of this all. You want your content to be something that can reach those in your niche, plus those outside of it have to feel interested even though it does not directly relate to them. The way you start off your video is vital to this idea. You want to get the viewers attention and KEEP their attention in the first 10 seconds. Often times I will watch a video, and if what I am looking for is not mentioned that window, I will back out and go to the next video. Same thing applies for a random click on a discovered video. If I dont know your face, you better be saying something that I want to hear or show me something that I want to see. Pick something that is current, or relatable to a general crowd. You want that crowd to hear what you said, but let them know that you will answer that, during the video or at the end.

If you can make that fire content, it will produce the views that you have imagined, or wish you had. Everyone is interested in their own subjects, but if you find something you do, and view it from a perspective of someone totally opposite then you are set to create the proper way. You will find that you friends will share the video, and maybe their friend picks it up, or maybe the algorithm likes it because it had a long watch time.

Getting views on a platform like TikTok is a little different, however. The more I sit on that app, the more I realize what it takes to get eyes on the content. There's a couple key things. You need good lighting, the right content, and be sure to include these hashtags (#fyp #foryoupage #viral) along with hashtags that are trending on that particular day. As far as the lighting goes, you want to make sure that you are not standing in a dark space, and if you are, to use something to light yourself up. Natural lighting also works majority of the time. As far as the content goes, it's a similar idea as above, except you only have 1-3 seconds to catch that viewers attention at first. Being funny is a great way to this, doing something rediculous and unheard of, being relatable, or showing something interesting. Be sure to pick the right music, which tik tok provides. Once you post it, tik tok will blast it out, and you don't even have to worry about fighting any algorithm like you do on instagram.

If anything I mentioned here does not work for you, that's strictly because of your content. Keep trying new things, and see what works. Eventually one thing will work and you will find your niche.

Hope this helps you guys out, good luck! Feel free to DM me on instagram with any questions (@willmax95)!

All the best,
