Here are some Jobs and ways by which you could find a job if you are in Cameroon or possibly in any other African country. This is a list of websites and also some ingenious ways by which you can find a job easily and quickly without much effort. Finding a job doesn’t necessarily need to be a nightmare, the first thing you have to ask yourself is “what skills do I have to offer?”. What can you do for your potential employer which will help him or her generate more revenue? Because that's what a job is! You're helping another person make more money and by doing so he gives you a cut.

Think long and hard what are all the skills you possess which might be of value to a potential employer, even just being able to speak could be enough to get you a job these days, so don’t underestimate yourself. In case you don’t have any skills, here are a few jobs which won’t take you too long to learn and enter in to the job market.

Business Manager

Every business is looking forward to scale and for business owners to be able to do this, they need to entrust the daily management of their business to someone trustworthy. That's why every business owner is always looking for a business manager to handle his business for him, so he can focus on scaling the business and other things. No business owner wants to be stuck managing a monotonous business forever, so they need employees to whom they can entrust these tasks. One way of finding a job is by reaching out to these business owners and proposing to them that you’ll manage their business for them, of course you will have to prove your trustworthiness, as long as you are able to turn a profit on their business, then you are sure of getting paid. For this job you don’t need any certificate or special skills, you just need to know how to learn basic tasks. You can go for businesses like; shopkeeper, bar manager, restaurant manager or even company manager depending on how self-confident you are.

Nanny & House Help

There are many working families out there who are always in search of house help, for every big house you see out there, they are in need of a person to do the cleaning and the cooking. There are some houses which are just too big for the family alone to handle, so they obviously need extra help. Just go knock on the door and ask if there is a position available. I’ll admit that the pay for nannies and house helps isn’t the best in Africa but if you work there long enough, you can have some decent benefits like free food and shelter.

Driver

This job requires that you have at least a driver’s license, which shouldn’t be something too difficult to get. Passing the driving exam doesn’t require you to have gone to school, there are a lot of drivers out there who don’t even know how to write (but hopefully know how to read). You can get a driver license and propose your services to any person with a car. An easy way would be for you to print out flyers advertising that you are a driver searching for a job and hand it out to all the personal cars passing by. I’m sure before the end of the week you’ll be getting offers. This job is great, the pay is good, you can sometimes get free food and all you need to do is drive and sit in the car while your boss runs his errands.

Commercials

Advertisement isn’t quite a big thing in Africa, most companies don’t want to waste their money in advertisement because most of their target audience aren’t sitting down watching TV anyway, so they have to count on what is known as commercials. Persons who go around selling their products and earn a salary based on how much of the product they can sell. There are quite a lot of these brands out there, and it doesn’t take you anything to start, just go to the head office and get some products. You could be selling things from soap to dairy products, everything that is marketable is in you reach, the good thing is that you can work independently or work under the company, depending on what you prefer.

Hair Dresser

All women need their hair done on a regular basis, so this is a skill worth learning and which also pays quite well, you would be surprise how much a hairdresser makes. You could take a month or two to learn this skill by being an intern in any hairdressing shop and start a business of your own, you don’t even need no big setup, a mirror and some space is all you need to get started. Your first clients are surely going to be your neighbors and the recommendations you get.

Jumia Jobs & Others

You can make use of all the job listing portals found on the internet. There are so many of them online, just type “find a job in ….” and google will list your all the job listings in your area, things are just getting better with facebook getting into this area too. You can find a job on facebook as well. There are just so many websites out there which list all the jobs available in your area. No need to be skeptical, there are scams but thats really a very small percentage, just make sure to call the person who posted the job to get more information before going and never send money to anybody for anything related to a job listing, you are looking for a job to be paid, you shouldn’t have to pay to get a job.

Here are some job listing websites:

  • ngojobsinafrica.com

If you don’t know what linkedin is then I suggest you do some more research, its a must-have for every professional out there.
