1. First Things First: How to Find Emails On Instagram?

I'm an eCommerce store (bikinis niche) and about a year ago I was desperate as my revenue stagnated for too long.

My only source for getting new customers was Instagram and my goal was to try to target the followers of my competitors with social media ads.

So I was curious what type of profiles follow my competitors so visited every single one of them.

After a while, I noticed that a lot of them have their personal/professional email right on their profile.

As you can see from the image below, there are two ways people share their email on Instagram.

2. How to Extract TARGETED Emails From Instagram?

Now I want to cover how you can find your targeted customers on Instagram before you start scraping emails from Instagram.

• Followers of Competitors, Relevant Influencers, Other Brands

ALWAYS, start with the followers of your competitors. It's the simplest way to find your target market on social media and get a bigger piece of the market. Also, find influencers or brands that your customers follow on Instagram.

• Hashtags

Instagram users add hashtags in their Instagram post to describe what the image consists of and to gain additional traffic from anyone that searched that.

If you search #dog on Instagram you'll see accounts that used that hashtag.

This is a super-easy way to find your audience. Simply look for the type of hashtags your existing customers use to find other people that also used that specific #.

Amazing right?

3. How to Get Emails From Instagram For Free?

To collect email addresses from Instagram users for free you need to manually extract any publicly available information from an account. 30-40% of all users will have an email address right on their profile.

If your competitors have less than 1k followers and you want to get a small email list for trying out this approach then go ahead and scrape Instagram manually!

But, the biggest problem is that this approach is not (at all) scalable. I've spent a whole week until I got my IG account banned for visiting too many user profiles.

The second best way to use email data scraped from Instagram is to import the list in Facebook Ads (or Quora, Twitter, Reddit) as custom audiences.

Custom Audiences let you show ads on Facebook and Instagram to people that are within the email list you imported.

They are usually used for your customer list but Facebook doesn't verify that the list you have has opted in. This leaves the door open for using Instagram emails in Facebook Ads.

Since the emails are from Instagram the match rate is as high as 90%.
