What Is A Strapping Machine?

Strapping machines, also known as banding machines, are essential in many industries for a variety of uses. For efficiency or to enhance the appearance of a packed product, they are frequently utilized at the end of a production line. Whatever equipment is best for attaining maximum production also depends on which production line you employ or which product you want to strap.

For shipping or handling, a strapping machine typically wraps a plastic strapping band around a single item or a pallet of stacked goods. The belt can be held in place using a variety of techniques, including heat, friction, and ultrasonic welding. There is an appropriate plastic strapping band for every product that ensures they are held together because they are made in a variety of sizes and strengths.

The numerous strapping machines come in a wide variety, ranging from modest semi-automatic or tabletop devices to automatic bow machines. Pallet loads and stacked items are bundled for transit and storage using larger fully automatic strapping machines.

Types of Strapping Machines

Classified by Binding Materials

① Plastic strapping machine. It is a bundling machine for medium and small-weight packaging boxes. The plastic zone used is mainly polypropylene, nylon belts, polyester bands, etc.

② Steel belt strapping machine. It uses steel bands as bundling materials because the strength of the steel band is high, it is mainly used for heavy and large packaging boxes.

Classified by Connecting

① Followed strapping machine. Because plastic bands are easy to heat and melt, it is mostly suitable for plastic band joints.

② Buckle strapping machine. It uses a dedicated buckle head to clamp the bundled band to clamp the tie and is mostly used for steel bands.

Classified by Structural Characteristics

① Basic strapping machine. It is a strapping machine suitable for various industries, and its countertop is suitable for standing operations. Mostly used in tied, small packaging, such as cartons, calcium plastic boxes, books, periodicals, etc.

② Side-type strapping machine. The joint part of the bundle belt is performed on the side of the packaging part, and the countertop is low. Suitable for large or pollution-wide packaging parts, if rust-proof treatment is added, it can be tied with water products, pickled products, etc. If dust prevention measures are added, it can be bundled with more dust.

③ Pressure strapping machine. For soft and elastic products such as leather, paper products, and conjunctiva fabrics, in order to tighten them, it is necessary to add pressure and tie.

④ Open-closing rail strapping machine. Its band track frame can be opened and closed in the horizontal or vertical direction, which is convenient for various cylindrical or ring-shaped packaging parts, and the rails are closed.

⑤ Horizontal orbit strapping machine. Its band orbit is horizontally arranged, and the packaging parts are bundled horizontally. It is suitable for horizontal bundles such as tray packaging parts.

⑥ Practice strapping machine. Generally placed on the top of the packaging part. When the belt is surrounded by the packaging parts, the machine is tightened and locked. It uses manual operation to be flexible and light.

Classified by Automation

① Manual tie strapping machine. Relying on manual operations to achieve tight locking and multi-plastic strap binding. It is simple, lightweight, and suitable for bundles of large or small packaging.

② Semi-automatic strapping machine. Use the conveyor device to send the packaging parts to the bundle station, and then use artificially to wrap the belt around the packaging part, and finally tighten the strap and fix it. Its work table is low, which is very suitable for large packaging.

③ Automatic strapping machine. There is a strap track frame above the workbench. When the packaging parts enter the bundle station, it will automatically perform the band, strap tightness, and fixed cutting. The rail frame of this machine is fixed, which is generally suitable for tied packaging parts with a single size and large batch. When binding, the movement, and steering of the packaging parts need to be carried out manually.
