Best Places to Visit Narsinghpur mp India

Narsinghpur district is situated in the central part of Madhya Pradesh state. The Vindhyachal on the northern border of Narsinghpur and the Satpura range on the southern border is spread. In the northern part, the Narmada river flows from east to west. In the past this area has been under the rule of the historical queen Durgavati dynasties. In the eighteenth century the Jat chieftains built a grand temple here and got the idol of Lord Narasimha established. Since then it became the headquarters of the district and this village named Gadaria Kheda became famous as Narsinghpur.

Damrughati, Gadarwara

Damru Ghati is a famous religious place located in Gadarwada of Narsinghpur. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. A very attractive statue of Lord Shiva is found in the temple . This temple was built in a damru-shaped valley on the banks of the river Shankar. This temple has a huge Shivling and is enshrined next to the great statue of Pawanputra Hanuman. The foundation of 15 feet has been given in the said temple. 10 feet below the statue of Shiva, 7 feet high Shiva's Nandi is built in a semi-circle of 7550 feet.

Jhoteshwar Temple

The huge and grand temple of Mother Raj-Rajeshwari Tripura Sundari built 15 KM from Shridham (Gotegaon) Railway Station in Narsinghpur District.. Jhoteshwar Temple, Lodheshwar Temple, Hanuman Tekri, Vichar Shila and Shivling made of crystal are also here. This place is also the tapobhoomi and karmabhoomi of Guru Shankaracharya Jyotish and Dwarka Peethadheeshwar Saraswati ji Maharaj. A seven-day fair is organized here on the occasion of Basant Panchami.

Narsingh Temple Narsinghpur

Narsingh Temple is a famous religious place located in Narsinghpur. This temple is dedicated to Lord Narasimha an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. A very attractive statue of Lord Narasimha is found in this temple. This temple is ancient. Narsinghpur district is named after the Narsingh temple itself. Near this temple you get to see a pond which is called Narasimha Talab. There is a tunnel under this temple which leads to the king's palace here. This tunnel is now closed. You can come and visit this temple.

Barman Ghat

Barman Ghat is located on the banks of holly river Narmada 24 KM from Narsinghpur district headquarter. Here the Narmada river flows in seven streams. A fair is held here from Makar sankarnti to Basant Panchami. This is the tapobhumi of Brahma ji . The temple of Queen Durgavati, Hathi Darwaza and Barah statue are the places of interest. In which, on behalf of the district administration, exhibitions of various departments – agriculture, cooperatives, education, health etc. are organized for public awareness.

Dada Maharaj Dulhadev Temple

The temple of Dada Maharaj built on NH 26, about 6 km from the city is the center of faith. A large number of people come here from far and wide for darshan and prayers. Due to the special importance of darshan on Saturday a fair of devotees is seen on this day.

Chauragarh Fort Narsinghpur -

Chauragarh Fort is a historical site located in Narsinghpur. Chauragarh Fort is located in Gadarwara. This fort was built by Gond Raja Sangram Singh and built in the 15th century. Chauragarh Fort is situated in the middle of the forest. This fort is present here in a ruined state. You can enjoy the natural landscape by coming here during the rainy season. A pond is also found in the fort, which is called Rewa Kund. The fort has a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, in which the idol of Narasimha avatar of Lord Vishnu is seated.

Tonghat (Chota Dhunwadhar ) -

Tonghat situated on the banks of Sher river about 12 km from Belkhedi on Narsinghpur Gotegaon road is a beautiful place full of natural beauty. It is also known as small smoke. It is believed that the Pandavas had spent their time of exile here. Due to being the city of King Virat the name of the village became Barheta in due course of time.

Hathinala Waterfall Narsinghpur -

Hathinala Falls is a natural waterfall of Narsinghpur. This waterfall is Located in the middle of dense forests. You have to trek to reach this waterfall. This waterfall falls down in 5 levels, which is very breathtaking. This waterfall is about 1 kilometer away from the highway road. You can easily reach here .This waterfall is full of natural beauty. It is at a distance of 1 km from Billadha village. There is no shop available here. If you come here then bring food and drink.

Deepeshwar Temple Narsinghpur -

Deepeshwar Temple is a religious place of Narsinghpur. This temple is dedicated to Shiva. It is said that in ancient times lord Brahma ji did penance here . Deepeshwar Temple is built on an island on the river Narmada. This temple is situated near Barman Ghat. You can also come to visit this temple.

Pathehra Fort Narsinghpur -

Pathehra Fort is an ancient site of Narsinghpur district. It is an ancient fort which is built on the banks of river Narmada. This fort now exists in a ruined state. You can come here to visit. Pathehra Fort was built by the Gond ruler Raja Balwant Singh in the 16th or 17th century AD. This palace must have been 3 floors. Now it has turned into rubble. The construction of this palace is made of a mixture of bricks and rough stones. You can visit here with family and friends. You will love coming here.

Ghogharnath waterfall Narsinghpur -

Ghogharnath Falls is a very beautiful waterfall located in Narsinghpur district. This waterfall is situated in the middle of dense forests. You can come here by your bike. This is a rainy waterfall. You get to see this waterfall during the rainy season. During summer the water in this waterfall dries up. You will love coming here. You can come here with your friends and family members.

Ram Mandir is a very ancient temple located in Narsinghpur. It is a religious place. Here you get to see the idols of Shri Ram ji, Mata Sita ji and Lakshman ji.
