Ayurveda is primarily an Indian science. During the period of Gautama Buddha and after, many valuable additions were made to Ayurveda. Adya – Vaidya Lord Dhanvantari is considered the father of Ayurveda. According to mythology, he got this knowledge from Brahma ( creature of the earth according to Hindu mythology) himself.

In Ayurveda, remedies have been given for every disease, how natural remedies can be done, it has been analyzed, as well as what routine a person should follow to stay healthy, it has been told.

We get the description of different herbs in Ayurveda to avoid many diseases and for their remedies. Similarly, in Ayurveda food is divided into three parts: sattvic diet, rajasic diet, and tamasic diet. In the Satvik diet, fresh vegetables obtained from nature are food without oil and spices, in Rajasic food, there is a lot of oil and spices and it is to satisfy us, it is tasty, and in the Tamasic diet, such food comes as meat and fish, Processed food, more fried and spices are eaten. Our nature becomes like the food we eat and it also has a lot of effect on our health.

The nature of a person with a Satvik diet is calm, good elements go inside the body, and revenue food is full of taste, such food was made for kings and emperors, hence it was named Rajadik food, it produces qualities like curiosity, exuberance. Like Tamasik food, there are packaged food, processed food, meat, and fish, which have a bad effect on the body and mind if consumed in moderation.

The four main Vedas in Ayurveda are Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, and Atharvaveda. But some references to herbal medicines in Ayurveda are taken from the Atharva Veda, one of the four main Vedas. Hence Ayurveda is considered to be a component of Atharvaveda.

Ayurveda is the science of staying free from physical and mental diseases, keeping the mind satisfied, maintaining control over the body and mind, and developing human life. Yoga and exercise are primarily emphasized to keep the body and mind fit.

In Ayurveda, all aspects of matter, air and water, balanced diet, seasonal cycle, plants, geographical nature, human life, living creatures, etc. are carefully studied. In Ayurveda, the disease is called 'Yakshma'. According to Ayurveda, human beings have three natures namely Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

A person who has all three prakriti in equal proportion is considered to be a good, healthy, and capable person. Ayurveda says that a healthy person will have a long life. According to Ayurveda, the average life expectancy of a human being should be 100 years.

Ayurveda says that life is a combination of body, mind, and soul. According to Ayurveda, the human body as well as any object in creation is made up of five basic elements. They are called Panchamahabhutas. Panchamahabhuta includes the five principles of earth, water, fire, air, and sky (pokli).

In Ayurveda, the patient is diagnosed by going to the root of the disease. According to Ayurveda, a living human being is composed of the three prakriti of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha and the seven primary cells of Rasa, Blood, Flesh, Fat, Bone, Marrow, and Venus.

According to Ayurveda, a year is divided into six seasons namely Vasant, Grishma, Varsha, Sharad, Hemanta, and Shishir. Also, how to maintain our diet according to the changes in the environment according to these seasons is medically studied in depth.
