BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• · 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
• · 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
• · Experience in partnering with product and program management teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to adapt and quickly learn new concepts and technologies in a fast paced environment
• Solid track record for delivery of high quality products
• Proven people management skills and experience in developing employee careers
• Strong project management skills, ability to track multiple executions simultaneously
• 15+ years of relevant software development and engineering management experience
• Experience with other embedded devices will be a big plus

A day in the life

The Amazon Fire OS team is looking for a Software Development Manager to drive world products in embedded software space that makes a one of a kind experience today, and will enable exciting new capabilities tomorrow. The successful manager will be obsessed with delivering results, experienced and highly committed to creating world class products in embedded software, able to develop and drive a high-level strategy, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy.

About the hiring group

Primary focus of the team is to implement new features and enhancements within Application/Middleware framework of different Media Player Engines from Android, ExoPlayer and in-house Amazon Media Player as per the requirements from different product teams like Kindle Fire Tablets, Amazon FireTV, Amazon Echo, Amazon Music/Video, Alexa and Smart Home devices.

Due to the current health crisis related to COVID-19 and the escalating visa/travel restrictions in place, we're currently unable to extend offers to anyone who cannot work from India due to lockdown visa/travel restrictions, or other restrictive measures until further notice. Consequently, we will be prioritizing candidates who can start in this location by set date as expected. We're keeping the situation under review and would adjust our position should the restrictive measures be removed later on.
