When I started blogging, I was unaware of how many free resources were out there. In the last few years, I've created a bookmarks folder with the best blogging tools. In this post, I'd like to present my top five bookmarks that I frequently use.

When you've had a blog for a long time, you've likely had the pleasure of hearing about these. But for those new to blogging, this list can aid you. It is precisely what I've liked to have since day one.

Finally, I don't have affiliations with any of these sites. I'm recommending them since I find them useful.

Grammarly

Grammarly is a free program that checks your writing for grammar and spelling. It's an individual proofreader, but without needing to spend a cent.

Whatever your skill level, do proofreading. Nearly everyone makes one or two mistakes slip by. Grammarly will catch these.

A paid edition also provides stylistic tips and a plagiarism-checking tool. I used to use the paid version. However, the free version is better than adequate at present.

The only caution I will offer is that, at times, Grammarly needs to provide correct suggestions. It's fantastic for catching errors; however, make sure you are aware of the suggested corrections before accepting them.

Capitalize My Title

Capitalize My Title is an entire website that does what it promises to do. The user pastes a title into the text box, and the website transforms it into proper capitalization.

What I like about this website is that it's simple to use and compatible with various style guides. You can switch from APA, Chicago, AP, and more in just a click.

The site also evaluates the strength of your headline. It's not foolproof, but it's a decent start in case you need to be more knowledgeable about creating headlines. It will give you an understanding of your headline's readability and search engine readiness.

Answer the Public

Answer questions from the Public is an excellent website to brainstorm ideas for your article. It is easy to enter a subject, and the site provides you with an abundance of questions users are looking for on the subject.

It is possible to use these questions to kick off your article. They can also be used as headlines. If you've ever had writing block or writer's block, this website is a great resource to get rid of it.

Answer the Public allows you to run two free searches each day. After that, you'll require an account that is paid. But, every search provides an array of article topics I've never required to upgrade my account to pay.

Search Console

Google Search Console can be described as a no-cost analytics tool provided by Google which allows bloggers to track their traffic to search engines.

Let me begin with one crucial point: It's primarily designed for self-hosted blog sites, and, to my knowledge, there needs to be a way to utilize it on this website. However, if a self-hosted blog, that is vital.

It reveals what keywords your site appears under, what it is ranking in the search results, and how many visitors are visiting your website. It also will show you precisely which pages on your blog drive traffic.

The data is easy to read and highly informative. It's an excellent method to determine which subjects to spend more time with and which you should avoid.

Wikimedia Commons

Wikimedia Commons is an open-source and Creative Commons media collection -primarily images. This site has a wealth of images you can legally put on your blog at no cost. (Note, however, that some images may require attribution or may have additional restrictions. )

There are plenty of websites that offer free images. However, Wikimedia Commons is my top choice. It's simple to search for images, has images available in various resolutions, offers precise details on the license, and offers suggestions for attribution language.

The quality of images varies in quality from primary to high-end. However, there are so many available that I could find something that will work for my blog posts.
