Ghana: The Treatment of Having a Nigerian Parent & Their Surname
Monday, 4 December 2023 By: TB Obwoge I've been trying to delete items from my phone, when I came across notes from conversations I've had with several Ghanians, while living in Ghana. The notes are about a year and a half old, they're eye opening to what I've been writing about the xenophobia and treatment of anyone who's different living in Ghana.
What did the interviewer do during the interview that signaled you had passed the interview?
I usually interview about 200 people a year. So I'm not going to answer you from the perspective of a professional in human resources, but I'm going to answer you from the perspective of an interviewer. First, what questions do interviewers usually ask when they are interested in the candidate? Number one, he will tell you a lot about the company. It's because he wants to attract you through the introduction of the company, the company values, the company benefits and so on. This is him matching you with your values. Second, he will ask you, if there was a problem, how did you solve it? If you give good answers and he shows that he is, um, smiling and willing to talk further about these topics, he has approved of your interview. The response is that he matches your management philosophy and principles in dealing with things and relationships. Number three, he'll ask you, What are your salary expectations? When you report an expected new student, if he did not do any answer, there may not be too much drama, if you report a salary after he told you to estimate that he can give you a salary value, in how much to prove that he is more approved of your interview. This response matches how well he matches your salary criteria for the position. Number four, he'll ask you how long it takes you to get used to the team, or how long it takes you to get results, or what would you do if you came in? These problems are reflected. The degree to which you feel responsible for the progress and results of your work. How will the interviewer react if he or she is not interested in the candidate? First, he will only take about three minutes to introduce you to the company, and you can hear that it is very shallow and one-sided. Second, he may tell you what kind of person the position is looking for, implying that you are not a good fit. Number three, the interviewer usually takes notes and things like that. If he hasn't written anything down during your entire interview, but he has prepared a pen and paper, then he's not interested in you. Fourth, the whole interview is that you said more ah, he said less and he did not introduce more company questions and company information, which proves that he has no feelings for you. What would it look like if the interviewer wanted to hire the candidate? First, he may ask you to go back and write a research report to him, and give you a time limit. Show that he wants to see your ability to really see problems and think logically about how to solve them. Also look for a recognition of your attitude towards the job and the company. Second, he may ask you for a start date, which means he needs you to start as soon as possible. This indicates that the current work pressure of this position is relatively large, and a great deal of work connection problems have been generated. Third, he may ask you how to bring the new and old team? Which means that he was so. The ability of the business is more certain, then in the test of your ability to lead the new and old staff team, whether you can also meet his needs. Number 4: Are you alone or do you need to bring several people with you? It shows that he trusts you very much and hopes that you can come here soon to handle the entry. At the same time, he is not very satisfied with the organizational structure, and needs you to bring someone to update the staff blood. Fifth, he will introduce you to the organizational structure of the company and tell you what responsibilities the position holds within the organizational structure. It means he wants you to be a good match and he believes you can be.

But I have been working hard and doing all that with no results at all. I am publishing around in KDP and it helped me in nothing at all, no matter if you change the words, improve the quality of the manuscript and the cover. It's so hard nowadays to be a simple writer in this world and honestly no one care less if fall down in the depths of the algorithms that Amazon did just bring those works that only a certain number of people wants to read, besides millions of books are published every day and it falls down the big hole, no matter how hard the work was. That's the dark side of KDP and other self publishing platforms. Because of this many traditional publishers either they have to close and file bankruptcy or increase the prices of the publishing to survive other winter. Some, still won't. Tons of people self publish now that brings that paradox that we all have been feeling since that Amazon launched first CrativeSpace and then, KDP. Other platforms open also to bring competition to Amazon. And thing escalated pretty fast after that. Now, many writers like me the because of that. And many are unable to escape the stagnation of publishing, when there is too much to offer and too few people who have the the power to buy. It's a sad moment and this will bring a new crash but for all book industry. Since I am a writer officially in 2019 all that has been happening is just hardships and moments o...I
