Nameera HumayunPublished 7 months ago in InterviewHeyA! Back to that Astronaut?
[I introduce you to the Shadow brothers: Red, Chris, and Blake. They had a rough life as shadow kids, having been raised in a lab solely for militaristic purposes. They are said to be the imaginary friends or literary creations of a certain Chloe Fitzwater, young Vocal member and mastermind of tales and free verse. Red is the leader, the Tallest: the critical voice, voice of power and victory. Chris is the nerd who knows everything and will never hesitate to rattle off his string of facts and figures. Blake, well...Blake is all over the place but finds his inner center in Pizza. At least that's how they introduced themselves to me, begging me to showcase the writing of their Imaginary Creator: Astronaut Girl. Let's see what the Shadow Bros have to say.]

Interview with Artist Chris Silverman
Today, I am excited to spotlight Chris Silverman, whom I met on Pixelfed last year. Chris Silverman is a designer, artist, and illustrator living in New York’s Hudson Valley. Since late 2021, he has done one drawing in the iPhone Notes app every day, sharing them to social media under the hashtag #notesArt. He explores a wide variety of themes: isolation, technology, internet culture, and the overall sense of being adrift in an alien world. Icons, symbols, and emoji often play a role in his work.

“One Million” Muse(s) :: Project Description This project is a series of conversations/interviews, released Mondays highlighting people in my life who inspire me. In each exploration, I will dive into specially curated questions for each of my muses. We will investigate a wide variety of topics including: sexuality, self-care, personal characteristics, styles, art, music and more. While having a moment to relish in my own curiosity, I hope to highlight the unique qualities of each of my muses – invite conversation based on similarities, and eliminate being overly critical of oneself. This is a special for my sister's birthday :)
Isabella D'AlessandroPublished 8 months ago in InterviewShadows of the Past: The Final Chapter
Chapter 05: The Truth Unveiled I spent my entire childhood wondering: why my parents didn’t stay together and why I couldn’t live with both of them in the same house? I had to live separately, with my mom in one place and my dad in another. Even after my grandma passed away, my dad never returned. This question always haunted me. Whenever there were parent-teacher meetings at my school, parent-teacher meetings at school, I saw my friends’ parents coming together, both moms and dads. But during my school years, my dad and mom never came together. I only saw them together for the first three years of my childhood, and after that, they were never together. I grew up in this situation, never having the chance to live with both of them in one home. As I grew older, I began to understand the situation. My mom and some family members explained everything to me because I had become old enough to comprehend. They answered the questions I had been asking since childhood. When my aunt was 16 years old, my maternal grandparents, meaning my mom’s parents, passed away. There was no one to take care of her, so my mom brought her to live with us. My mom made sure she got admission and educated her through college. When my aunt turned 23, something happened that I’m not entirely sure about, but somehow, my father and my aunt started liking each other. They both fell in love. One day, they made a plan to secretly leave the house and get married in court. They left without telling anyone, and my dad sent divorce papers to my mom. That’s my story. Until now, I’ve never shared it with anyone, not even my best friends, because I believed that when you share something like this, people tend to judge you negatively. They make assumptions about your family and past and may say hurtful things. But when I heard about Vocal Media, I felt it was a platform where people could understand and not judge my story. I’m thankful to Vocal Media for providing me with a space to share my story, and I’m grateful to all of you who read and understood it. I appreciate you all. Regards, Sapphira. Author: I and all of you have heard Sapphira’s story. Thank you to everyone who read and understood Sapphira’s story. Sapphira is undoubtedly a very strong young woman. She has faced and suffered so much at the age of 20 that perhaps we might not understand even when we reach the age of 50. May God keep Sapphira strong like this, bless her with happiness, and may it never be the case for anyone else to face what Sapphira has gone through. After listening to the whole story, I can't help but wonder if Sapphira's father ever considered how his actions would impact his daughter and leave her traumatized for life. Did her aunt ever think about her sister who supported her during difficult times, offered her support, and made every possible effort to educate her so she wouldn't remain ignorant? What did Sapphira's mother receive in return for all the effort she put in alongside her younger sister? Betrayal? Pain? Tears? How can someone be so selfish? Have they ever regretted what they did, realizing that they shouldn't have done those things? Can someone be content while causing pain, suffering, and tears to another person's life? The world operates on the principle: what yo do today will come back to you tomorrow, so why don't people think before doing something wrong to others? What are your thoughts on this? Let me know in the comments. And if you like my small effort to raise awareness, don't forget to like and subscribe.
