The Wicked, naughty Xmas list

Hoogstad's 'Winter horror story' prompt. Horrifically naughty and not very nice Christmas/Devilmas!

The Hoogstadite

On Devilmas eve, everything in the land of Hoogstad automatically turned black and white. Not a trace of color was to be found in nooks or crannies, hills or valleys or palaces or houses. Yes, everyone prepared for a merry black and white Devilmas. The Hoogstadite had awakened.

Every year parents tried to escape Hoogstad with their children, and every year the thickets surrounding the land grew even thicker.

At midnight the house of the evil Hoogstadite would come alive, as flames burst forth from its cellar. It was time to roast the first sumptuous morsel of a child this night.

The Hoogstadite roared loudly, the ominous and eerie laugh resounding up from his chimney walls, up to the sky and through the village streets, sending chills up and down the spines of adults, cats, dogs, ferrets and other pets and such, and every single child cowered, knowing that their days were numbered.

"AH HAH HA HAH HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, Send me your children".

Bats flew, lizards and frogs croaked angrily, as their peace was rudely disturbed.

Poor Peter was the first to go. Then Annie and May, followed by Shea and Kay, Paul and Kahl. The Hoogstadite licked his lips and flung the bloody skulls out the window.

"More, more, so delicious"!! He bellowed.

But little Evangeline had a surprise for the wicked Hoogstadite this year, when her turn came, she whistled loudly and shrilly.

From out the sky a most welcome sound could be heard. With a jingling and a jangling of merry bells, with colors not often seen this night in Hoogstad, a welcome sight greeted their eyes and ears. All eyes lifted thankfully heavenward, as ho, ho, ho, rang out from above, now all would be well, for Santa was sure to bring back Christmas, and the evil Devilmas would come to an end. Santa brough all the reindeers that he could find.

The wicked, mean old Hoogstadite opened his great big door, raised his great big arms and grabbed Santa and all the reindeers. He started to eat them raw, uncooked and unseasoned. Hoogsta hated colors, they hurt his eyes.

Bloody Santa

Poor Santa managed to escape, but not before the Hoogstadite bit out a chunk of his stomach, Santa used his hand to hold his bloody dripping guts from spilling.

With tears streaming down their faces the villagers watched in horror.

Rudolph managed to escape with the sleigh, Santa jumped on his back as he went splat, his hind legs scrunched into the sleigh by the weight of Santa on his back.

Evangeline, not to be outdone, jumped upon the sleigh with Santa, gaining her Xmas colors as if by magic.

Evangeline escapes

The villagers grabbed a few presents before the sleigh went soaring off skyward, with blood dripping everywhere.

The Hoogstadite yawned. His stomach was filled to the hilt. No one else would be eaten tonight.

They did try many times to burn down the house while the wicked Hoogst was sleeping, but he had his evil watchman, always vigilant and never sleeping. The Hoogst had eaten the rebellious villagers.

The Watchman

From out the sky, Evangeline's voice could be heard clearly upon the wind:

"Don't worry, I shall come back to save you all".

"Me too, ho, ho, ouch...Merry Christmas..ouch, oh, OUCH." Groaned Santa.

Maybe next year the snow would fall again.

"Merryyyyyyyyy Devilmassssss Christmassssssss one and all"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I almost couldn't get through this one. I know it's supposed to be horror, but I found it hilarious (in no small part due to the fact that you gave the evil creature my surname). The story makes me wonder, though...will Santa grow back that part of his stomach, or will he be cursed to wander the rest of his days with a chunk of stomach missing?

Fab writing as usual No! But I need a part 2 or at least an alternate ending! Will Santa get to whoop a little behind! Shame on that wicked hoogst for terrorizing everyone! lol Clearly I'm a little bit triggered! lol Great work!!
