"A beautiful Victorian home." Elisa answered. "Think we can do it."

With the painting, lawn mowing, and carwash." he laughed. "Piece of cake."

It was a nice, peaceful town. The city wasn't to large praise the stars. Elisa loved the feel of a quiet, little breezy relaxed town.

Chapter One

It was Monday and come a Monday come a Monday came. She was cleaning the house when it happened. The kids were playing outside when she heard the smash.

"Is everybody alright?" she asked.

"Yeah Ma." the middle one said.

"Yes Mom." the oldest replied.

The youngest was quiet. She went around to investigate. The air seemed chill.

"Well everything seems alright." Elisa stated as if something else could hear.

Elisa was raised Pentecostal and prayed every chance she got. Elisa was a librarian. She had been for years. That was where she meet her husband. He was a businessman. Did a lot to and survived even more. He made sure Elisa was number one everyday and his kids. The oldest was Jennifer a tall, young eight year old. The middle John was a sturdy five year old. The youngest Elisa, named after her mother, was a curious three year old. Who loved her Ma every chance she got.

Her shift had started, she was doing the returns checking the late fee's, catching every thing up. She was the new one and didn't wanna look lazy or slow.

"Hi, dearie." The old lady announced. " My name is Stephanie Dresloo. How are you?"

"Good and good morning." Elisa replied. "Let me get you checked in, to check out."

"Okay hun take your time." Stephanie said. "I heard your husband is a painter?"

"Yes, with years of experience." Elisa said "Andrew Works hard and professional."

"I need my porch painted my barn would he?" Stephanie asked.

"Yes." Elisa smiled " I'll let him know as she was taking down Stephanie's information.

"Thank you and thank you again dearie." Stephanie smiled back. "I'll discuss price with him."

Okay here is your book." Elisa said as she handed the bag. "It's due back on Tuesday."

" Okay and thank you." She replied as she was heading out of the library in her thought's.

Chapter Two

It was early in the morning when he had started. The day was young and the night was weak. Him and Stephanie. had already discussed everything.

"Some stuff is not meant to be open." Stephanie said as he started working.

"I know right." Andrew said as he was mixing "Me and Elisa try to leave no door left open."

" That's a good way to live." Stephanie replied.

She went on. "There is an old warning that comes with it, the place you live."

"Oh yeah." John said as he dipped the brush.

"Way a long time ago, when the town was still young. they started to practice dark magic to keep it safe. The town I mean." she said with a grimace stare.. "So the beast of the field and the outsiders wouldn't come near."

He was almost through the first coat as he was listening.

"Satanic chants and evil whispers." she laughed. "Helped them befriend a dark creature."

"Hmm." John looked as he finished.

"A long bodied, long tailed, monkey, reptile like creature.." Stephanie replied.

"Thanks for the story." John said. "I'll let the wife and kids know. All it needs to do is dry."

"Thank you." she said as she was paying him.

"Always he replied as he was loading his truck." Thanks for the warning."

Andrew John drove away into the sunset back to his family.
