The Sally House, constructed in the 1870s in Atchison, Kansas, is a seemingly ordinary 1200 square foot mid-century home with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It gained worldwide attention due to the numerous paranormal activities reported within its walls. Despite its regular appearance, the house has a haunting history that revolves around a young girl named Sally. However, some historical research has failed to confirm the existence of a girl named Sally ever living in Atchison.

The origin of the haunting traces back to the late 1800s when Charles Finney, a local doctor, lived in the house with his family. Charles had an affair with an African-American housemaid, resulting in the birth of Sally. When Sally fell gravely ill with appendicitis, Charles attempted an unqualified and poorly executed surgery on her, leading to her tragic death. This event left a dark stain on the house, and many believe that Sally's spirit now haunts it.

The house's paranormal energy seems to be particularly aggressive towards men, likely due to the traumatic events that occurred during Sally's surgery. Over the years, different occupants have reported eerie occurrences, strange sounds, and moving objects, especially in the nursery.

Tony and Debbie Pickman, who moved in with their baby son Taylor, experienced a surge in paranormal activities. Lights would turn on and off by themselves, toys would move on their own, and the nursery became a focal point for these strange events. Eventually, the paranormal activity escalated, leading to physical attacks on Tony, including unexplained scratch marks appearing on his body.

Feeling overwhelmed and terrified, the Pikmans sought the help of a psychic medium to shed light on the situation. They decided to consult a psychic medium named Barbara Connors in their desperation to understand the paranormal activity in their home, which had become violent. They were concerned for their safety and the safety of their newborn son. Barbara visited their home to personally experience the paranormal energy and identified a ghost named Sally as the main entity haunting them. Barbara suggested they embrace Sally as their own daughter, believing she wasn't inherently evil. Despite trying to welcome Sally with love and acceptance, the demonic presence rejected them, leaving scratch marks and welts on Tony's body.

To seek help, they reached out to the producers of the show "Sightings," a paranormal documentary series. Several paranormal experts investigated the house, and they suspected the presence of a poltergeist in addition to Sally's spirit. During their investigations, they recorded strange events, cold spots, and scratches on Tony's body. The experts advised the Pickman family to remove toys and other items that could attract the entities.

As the sightings episode aired, the house gained national attention, and skeptics questioned the authenticity of the haunting. Despite the scrutiny, the Pickmans believed they were dealing with a demonic entity pretending to be Sally. They tried an exorcism and cleansing ceremony, but the haunting persisted.

The house, known as the Sally House, continues to attract paranormal enthusiasts, but some still doubt the validity of the hauntings. The haunting's origin is linked to a dark past involving the death of a little girl named Sally Isabel during a surgery performed by Dr. Charles Finney. Over the years, the house has seen more paranormal activity, reinforcing its reputation as a genuinely haunted location.

Do I personally hold the conviction that the Sally House is haunted? Absolutely, without a shred of doubt, I firmly believe in the paranormal nature of this place, primarily because of the vivid sensations and unexplained occurrences I distinctly perceived during my time there, which have lingered with me even after departing from the premises. Such undeniable and inexplicable events leave little room for skepticism or contradiction.
