The story revolves around a boy named Ben who is always creeped out when visiting his aunt's house. His brother made him watch The Shinning when he was five, and the twins in the film looked exactly like them. This made him feign sickness when told where they were going. However, his mom eventually forced him to go, and he spent most of his time clinging to his dad's leg.

One day, the boy's mother told him to stay at his aunt's house for a couple of days. When he left, his dad returned with his little Thomas the Tank Engine suitcase, and the twins came down the stairs in matching blue dresses. The boy cried more than ever before, and his aunt tried to console him by telling him that his parents would be back tomorrow night.

The boy's aunt took him to Jennifer and Jessica's room, where they had a mouse trap and a camp bed. They asked him to play a game, but he refused. Instead, they invited him to meet their sister, who was scared of them. Jennifer and Jessica told him that there were only two of them, and their other sister lived in the toy box. Jennifer told her to stop it, but she didn't want to get into trouble.

The boy was excited but scared, and Jennifer knocked on the lid of the toy box three times. Jennifer screamed, and Jennifer scolded him for not telling her. Jennifer smacked her hand over her mouth, and Jennifer screamed. Jennifer then turned off the light and closed the door, leaving the room with only a small dull nightlight.

The sisters got into bed, and the boy's aunt said that he wanted to meet her. Jennifer resented the boy's behavior, but the boy was still scared and excited. The story highlights the dangers of feigning illness and the importance of understanding one's surroundings when dealing with strangers.

The story revolves around a young boy named Jane who is haunted by the ghost of his sister, Jennifer. He is scared of the toy box that was left in his room, and he is told by his cousin Ben that he will stay with them tonight. When he wakes up, he finds his sister, Jane, in the toy box, dressed in an identical blue dress with small white socks on its feet and a bandaged head.

Jennifer tells him that she likes him and that she has been telling him ghost stories. The sisters remain silent, and the boy spends the rest of the day in the living room watching cartoons. His parents arrive early in the evening, and he is greeted by his mother, who apologizes for the scare he experienced.

The family then divides up Jane's belongings, as she had not left a will. The boy is excited to see the box and asks his father to put it in his room. His dad agrees, but the boy refuses to let the box be near him. The boy is surprised when his father offers to store his games in the box, as he feels like he has seen a ghost.

A few days later, the boy attends his aunt's funeral, where Jennifer and Jessica lead the eulogy. The mother praises her sister and the daughters she had brought up. The boy is the first person he knows who has died, and he is left to feel the loss.

The coffin is slowly lowered into the grave, and the grave diggers gently fill the hole with dirt. The boy asks his mother about the grave marked Mary Grovener next to his aunt's, and she reveals that Mary was her daughter. The boy is shocked and confused, but his aunt assures him that she is safe and that he will never return to the place where he was once.

In summary, the story revolves around a young boy named Jane who is haunted by the ghost of his sister, Jennifer, and their cousin Ben. The family tries to comfort the boy by introducing him to the doll and the toy box, but the boy remains scared and confused.
