The Bajun Cat
A Tale Inspired By "The Bajun Cat", by Konstantin Kuznetsov ๐

Introduction
Another wonderful image shared by The Enchanted Booklet here:
The link tells the story of the Bajun Cat, but this is my take on it based on the picture.
The glare reminds me of these two that turn up each day demanding kitty treats.

The music is "Demon Kitty Rag" by Tori and Dean
The Bajun Cat
Out in the cold woods, watching a flight of strange birds over the tops of the black pines, that cast their shadows on the snow-dusted ground. Then he heard it, a weird vibration, not a growl, but something else, and he found himself wandering toward what he thought was the source.
Though he knew of the Bajun Cat, he treated it as a tale to scare small children, a feline bogey creature, but this sound, he knew, was the sound of that creature, and he was snared.
He was not strong, and he knew he could never best a creature that he believed was the stuff of legend.
He walked into the clearing and sat on the stone pillar, with black bristling fur was the Bajun Cat. It glared at him with eyes that pierced his very soul.
He did not see the savage claw that took his life with a single vicious blow.
The Bajun Cat feasted on his body.
He was just one more who would never return from the forest and be forgotten by the people of the village who had warned him not to wander.
