The Anonymous Parcels

Uncovering the Dark History of a Haunted House

By Evelyn NightshadePublished about a year ago 4 min read

The Parker family was excited to move into their new home, an old Victorian house with plenty of space for everyone. The children were thrilled to have their own rooms, and the parents were excited about the large backyard and the potential for renovation. However, the Parker family was not prepared for the terror that awaited them in their new home.

The first strange occurrence happened a week after they moved in. A mysterious package arrived, addressed to the entire family, but with no return address. Inside the box was an antique silver mirror with an inscription on the back: "To the Parker family, may this mirror bring you joy and love, but beware of what it reflects."

The family thought it was an odd gift but didn't overthink it. A few days later, they received another package with a photograph of their grandfather, who had passed away years ago. The picture was taken on the front porch of the house they called home. It was a black-and-white photograph dating from the 1930s. But the strangest thing about the picture was that it appeared to be taken just moments before an accident.

In the picture, their grandfather stood on the front porch, holding a hammer, while a young girl stood beside him. It was clear that he was about to fix something, but before he could, the porch collapsed, and the girl fell through, screaming. The family knew about the accident but had never seen a photograph before.

The strange gifts continued to arrive. One day, a box of old toys showed up on their doorstep. Another day, they received a book with a note attached: "Read this carefully, it holds the secrets to your family's past."

As the days went on, the family began to feel like they were being watched. They heard strange noises in the middle of the night and saw shadows moving along the walls. It was as if someone, or something, was trying to communicate with them.

One night, as the family was gathered in the living room, they heard a loud banging on the front door. When they opened it, there was no one there. But outside, they found a note, written in old-fashioned handwriting: "You shouldn't have come back."

The family started to put the pieces together. They realized that their grandfather had built the house and that the accident had happened because of a faulty porch he had created. They suspected the strange gifts were being sent by the ghost of the girl who had fallen through the porch, seeking revenge on their family.

Determined to get to the bottom, the family dug through old records and interviewed people in the neighborhood who had known their grandfather. They discovered that he had been a cruel man, prone to fits of rage and violence. The family was horrified to learn their grandfather was responsible for the girl's death.

The haunting continued, but the family refused to leave. Instead, they began to repair the house, fixing everything their grandfather had done wrong. They hoped that by making amends, they could appease the vengeful spirit.

As the days passed, more strange things happened in the house. Doors would slam shut on their own, the furniture would move around by itself, and the family started hearing whispers and footsteps in the dead of night. One night, as they were all sleeping, they were woken up by a loud crash. When they went to investigate, they found all the pictures on the walls had fallen and were now lying in shattered frames on the floor. And amid the broken glass, they found a note that read, "You cannot hide from me. I know what you did."

The family was shaken to the core. Who was leaving these anonymous letters and parcels, and how did they know about the accident their grandfather had been involved in years ago? They decided to do some digging and discovered that the house's previous owner had been murdered by her husband in a fit of rage. The woman had been pregnant then, and her unborn child had also died in the attack.

As the family delved deeper into the house's history, they uncovered more secrets. They realized that their grandfather had played a role in the tragedy. He had been the one who had introduced the couple and had even encouraged the husband to marry the woman, despite knowing that he had a violent temper.

The family was filled with guilt and regret for their grandfather's actions and knew they had to make things right. They decided to hold a seance to reach out to the spirits of the deceased and apologize for their family's role in the tragedy.

The seance was a success, and the family communicated with the spirits of the murdered woman and her unborn child. They apologized for their grandfather's actions and promised to honor their memory by leaving the house and ensuring it would never be sold or rented out again.

The family left the haunted house and never spoke of their experience again. But the memory of the anonymous letters and parcels, and the house's tragic history, would haunt them forever.
