The Angelic Beast
Horror/Gruesome

There was only one rule: don’t open the door. The words blared through Shawna’s mind as she watched an all-white, angelic being become covered in dark red blood as it feasted on her husband. Hiding behind the pantry door, she couldn’t look away as she saw her husband slowly dying in torment.
The words became louder in her mind as her stomach turned while she focused on staying quiet so the monstrous angel wouldn’t find her.
“Don’t open the damn door!” she yelled at herself in her mind knowing that her husband’s agonizing death, amongst all those that were to come, was entirely her fault.
Struggling to avoid vomiting, Shawna accidentally let out a heavy breath.
Panicked, she covered her mouth, slowly took a step back, and closed her eyes to stay as still as possible.
She couldn’t see anything, but she could hear the monster still chewing on her husband’s flesh.
With just a slight sense of relief, Shawna dropped her hands from her mouth causing canned food to make its way down to the floor making the loudest sound she’d ever heard.
Silence then filled every corner of the kitchen. Trembling with her hand once again over her mouth, fighting her body to hold back tears, Shawna was tempted to look through the slots of the door.
Instead, her thoughts were disrupted as the door ripped off the wall and she was snatched into the wings of the angelic beast.
“I opened the door. I’m the one that let you out, I’m on your side!” Shawna rapidly shouted. The beast paused as if trying to understand her.
“Your husband was once on my side as well.” he said as he began to slide his sharp nail down her throat.
