Don't get this taxi

Taxi Of Death: Your Final journey

This story may be fictional, but it's been known that some taxi drivers have abducted people. You never truly know who your driver really is, until it's too late!

Getting a taxi is awfully expensive, especially in this day and age. It never used to be, but inflation has gotten ridiculous and now everything costs a fortune. Bus tickets cost $1 when I was a child, now they cost $5, but that's nothing compared to paying $30 for the same journey in a modern day taxi. If you're really unlucky, the driver may be rude and aggressive. Yet, we can't all point the finger at these drivers, I'm sure they get awful customers too. Point is, public transport can be a pain, but it can get you around for the right price. It does the job at the very least. However, there are some tales where people get ripped off so horribly, they don't even get to their destination at all. In fact some unfortunate people, have ended up dead!

One night a woman named Clara was out on the town, drinking heavily and partying with her many gal pals in the city of Miami, Florida. She was a beautiful lady who would've looked even prettier, if she hadn't puked, messed up her hair or wasn't drenched in sweat from all the dancing she had been doing. The young woman left the nightclub she was in, at the final hour before closing, as so many others had done before her. In fact, she was the last of her group, who still stayed out, so she was left alone as she walked home in her painful heels. She took them off, only to realise the ground below her was covered in broken glass and other debris. Clara cut her foot open and was screaming in pain, it was then, at that exact moment, a mysterious taxi pulled up beside her.

"Need a lift, love?" The bald, obese driver laughed, mockingly. Clara was startled, the yellow taxi had seemingly appeared from thin air.

"I eh..." She mumbled, drunk and confused.

"Had a bit too much, have we?" He chuckled, showing his crooked yellow teeth. Then the passenger door opened by itself.

"How- How'd you do that?" Clara asked.

"New technology, love!" He grinned. This was suspicious, for the taxi looked ancient. It had a 1970s design, which was rusty and the paint was stained with so much grime, it appeared an almost brown colour instead of yellow.

"But this taxi is..."

"Old?" The British driver chuckled, "it is strange that they upgraded this old wreck isn't it?"

"Yeah..." Clara replied.

"Come aboard, love!" The driver grinned again, his eyes shining red. She didn't know if it was the street lights reflecting on his pupils, or if he was a demonic entity of some kind.

"I think... I'd rather walk." Clara said, but she was evidently hesitant.

"With that bloody foot!" The driver laughed, pointing at it, "let me take you to a hospital. Free of charge." He winked.

"Oh... Oh, all right then." She reluctantly agreed, she assumed it was the alcohol which was making her see such unexplainable sights, such as the magic doors opening by themselves, or the red eyes of his, that shone like a Vampire.

"Yippee!" The taxi driver cheered, the moment she got in the car, the doors slammed and locked her in. Clara screamed as the car drove off into a nearby fog and vanished entirely. Clara or the mysterious taxi have not been seen since.

Only god knows what happened to her. Did the taxi take her to the afterlife, or somewhere far worse? Whatever the case, the taxi driver didn't take her home or the hospital. So, I rate this taxi service a 1 out of 5 stars!
