The Smell of Dust
The library sat on the edge of town - a squat brick building wrapped in ivy, its windows clouded with age. Locals called it the "Graveyard of Stories", a forgotten space nobody went anymore. Bare shelves and flickering lights scared everybody off. For as long as anybody could remember, it had been a place that people were glad to pass by but never to enter-except for Mara.

Licked Hand
The night was thick with silence, broken only by the occasional creak of the house settling into darkness. A storm brewed outside, casting brief flashes of light through the bedroom window. Megan lay under her blankets, clutching her loyal dog, Max, who lay beside her on the bed, a comforting weight in the shadows. She’d always felt safe with Max. His protective nature had soothed her on countless nights when she’d been alone in the big, empty house.

Angry Mermaid Captures a Fisherman
It was a hot and humid evening in the small Ghanaian village of Aburi. Koo, a local fisherman was desperate to catch some fish to feed his family. Times had been tough lately, and he hadn't had much luck fishing in his usual spots. As he walked home after another unsuccessful day, he passed by the path that led to the forbidden river on the edge of the village. 8 feet tall
In a small village in Japan, rumors spread of a terrifying entity known as "Hachishakusama," or the Eight-Foot-Tall Woman. She was said to be an evil spirit that lured children to their doom. Towering and unnaturally thin, her presence was marked by an eerie “po… po… po…” sound, like a low chant that echoed through the air. Many locals swore they’d seen her shadow stretching impossibly tall in the night, yet no one dared speak of it for fear of summoning her.

Horror Stories of Ghosts
In the dense woods of a forgotten town lay a haunted manor that locals feared even to look at after dusk. Known as the Grimsby House, the manor was said to be cursed by the spirit of a young bride, Eleanor, who had met a tragic fate on her wedding night over a hundred years ago. The story told that Eleanor had been left at the altar by her beloved, who disappeared without a trace. Heartbroken and humiliated, she wandered the darkened halls of the manor that night, in her wedding dress, until morning, when she was found dead in the attic. Some say she took her own life, while others claim she died of heartbreak, but from that day on, her restless spirit was bound to the house, yearning for answers.

The Forgotten Depths of Quay’s End
"The Smell of the Sea" A salty fragrance carried on the breeze whipped past the mist that becalmed the world in damp silence. The town by the shore called Quay's End was deserted these days: wind-swept houses stood along the edge of the cliff, leaning over as if they too wanted to fall into the deep, dark water that lay below.

Night Taxi
Late at night, I stood alone on a deserted street, trying to catch a taxi to go home. From a distance, I saw a taxi slowly approaching, so I quickly waved it down. The car stopped right in front of me, and the driver rolled down the window and asked, "Where are the three of you headed?" Hearing that, I froze, and a wave of fear hit me instantly. I quickly opened the door, got into the back seat, and, in a panic, said, "Drive fast, I'll pay you double!" Without asking further, the driver pressed the gas pedal and sped off.

Tierra Meiga — Witches’ Land
Galicia, Spain's most north-western region, doesn’t carry the famed badge of “tierra meiga” for nothing — besides being the land of miraculous creatures and mystical beings, its long tradition of witchcraft, spells and magic continues to fascinate locals and tourists alike. Witchcraft was yet another means of explaining the unexplainable; living in a world where common every day occurrences have yet to be explained scientifically must have been confusing and terrifying and assigning reasons to events, however bizarre and unreasonable they may be, is part of our human heritage.

King Arthur
There was only one rule: don't open the door. The house sat at the end of Sturbridge Street, undisturbed since the end of the investigation in 1992. The rusty hinges were hidden behind an overgrowth of ivy. The vines: speckled with thorns - a warning to most, and an invitation to some.
