The days of Vampires
Once upon a time, in the mystical land of Transylvania, the days were filled with darkness and mystery. It was a place where legends thrived, and among those legends were the fearsome creatures known as vampires. In this land, vampires were not just creatures of myth and folklore. They were real, lurking in the shadows, thirsting for blood, and feeding on the fears and souls of unsuspecting villagers. The days in Transylvania were overshadowed by constant dread, for the villagers knew that nightfall was when the vampires would emerge from their haunting slumber. In the heart of the land, nestled between gothic castles and eerie forests, lived a young woman named Eliza. She had grown up listening to the tales of vampire encounters, but she had always thought them to be mere stories to scare children. Little did she know, her life was about to take a treacherous turn. One fateful evening, as Eliza strolled through the village center, she noticed an enchanting stranger who seemed out of place amidst the fearful gazes of the locals. His name was Victor, a vampire who had taken an oath to protect humans from his own kind. Victor possessed a rare ability to resist the allure of blood and had dedicated his existence to fight against the darkness that consumed their lives. Intrigued by the mystery that shrouded Victor, Eliza approached him with caution. Little did she know, this encounter was destined to change her life forever. As the days turned into weeks, Eliza and Victor spent hours together, learning about each other's worlds, and forging a bond that transcended their differences. Victor told Eliza about the cursed existence vampires endured, trapped between eternal night and the constant hunger for sustenance. He revealed how the vampire society was divided into two factions: those who succumbed to their primal desires and those like himself, who sought to protect humanity. Eliza, empathetic and filled with a burning desire to bring light into the darkness, made it her mission to uncover the truth about vampires. With Victor as her guide, they embarked on a thrilling journey, delving into ancient texts, consulting wise elders, and seeking the hidden wisdom of forgotten realms. As their search progressed, they discovered that vampires, while born of darkness, could regain their souls through acts of benevolence and redemption. It was within the human capacity for love and forgiveness that their salvation laid. Armed with this newfound knowledge, Eliza and Victor resolved to bring unity among the vampire factions and restore harmony to Transylvania. Their quest was not without obstacles, for the vampire society was entrenched in a centuries-old feud. Deep-rooted hatred and bloodshed marked the history of both sides, making the restoration of peace seemingly impossible. Eliza and Victor faced persecution, danger, and even betrayal from those they thought they could trust. But they persevered, fueled by the belief that love and compassion could triumph over hatred. With their unwavering determination, they slowly began to make a difference. Villagers began to see vampires not as bloodthirsty monsters, but as beings who longed for redemption. In return, the vampires started to recognize the potential for salvation, finding solace in the selfless acts of humans. That film was Friday the 13th and it’s central character’s name is Jason Voorhees. Ever since his conception he has been known as a silent killer who ironically speaks loud volumes of the American conscious. He is also one of the greatest icons in the history of horror.

My Thoughts on The Babadook
My plot summary of the movie does involve spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movie, but want to, click away. So I finally got around to watching 2014's The Babadook; an Australian psychological horror directed by Jennifer Kent. Well, it's kind of a psychological horror. It is definitely psychological, but the Babadook is very much a real monster in this universe. But he serves as a rather frightening metaphor for grief.
