Mythical Monsters
When you were little, did your parents ever tell you stories where you wondered, "is that true?" For me it was the tale of Sirens; their voices being heard on abandoned shores when all else is quiet. The woman who told me the story told me with such conviction. Years ago, on her travels to the edge of the country, was a beach unlike any other. Even the ocean itself wasn't making a lot of noise that day. The fog was thick and with her ankles submerged in water, the song began. It was quiet, alluring, but also terrifying. Quickly she left, too afraid to investigate. It didn't sound close by and even though the melody was inviting, she felt it in her soul that she needed to get away.

The Doll Maker
Piper was on her way home with her brother and sister. They were talking about a new case they had been assigned. Piper and her siblings were detectives, of sorts. They took down the most notorious criminals: serial killers. Obviously, they were not normal triplets. They had been trained since they were small children. The triplets came into this way of life rather, you could say, unexpectedly. Their parents were killed by a man who was pure evil.

In wildlife, the younger animals may be more vicious than the elders. When backed into a corner, they will attack. There have been many deaths in my lifetime. I soon grew immune to death. I suppose I should’ve cried when my parents died … I should have felt something. Not a single tear dropped from my eye. I killed them. They had it coming, they were the ones after all that left me in the back of a hearse when I was younger. They locked me inside of a casket with a dead man.

Pennywise Wasn't Created by IT
Pennywise was a real person… At least that’s the theory I’m starting with. In Stephen King’s IT the titular, unnamed entity takes on a multitude of physical identities, but something occurred to me. None of these identities are “original.” I specifically highlight when IT takes on the form of the teenage werewolf or the mummy. These are creations of from the psyches of the children. IT probably didn’t sit through a showing of I Was a Teenage Werewolf or The Mummy. Rather, IT took these forms because IT knew the kids were scared by them.

*10 years ago* I was just laying in bed, watching my favorite YouTubers, and eating some chips, slowly dozing off but fighting the urge to fall asleep. The video was almost over anyway, might as well finish it. But my body had other plans. All of a sudden, I couldn't breathe, I couldn't move, there was a ringing in my ears, and all I could see was straight into the eyes of...something. It was a black mass, almost having a human figure, but things were just not quite right to say it was human. It had big, glowing eyes that seemed to not allow me to look away, and a mouth full of sharp teeth, dripping with blood. It was moving towards me from the corner of my room. It reached out its hand as it glided over, its limbs too long to be natural.

Schroder Farm Part 2
Lucas sat Jude at the end of the kitchen table farthest from the door with the rifle still in his hand. Hamish slouched on the opposing side of Jude, supported by his elbow as he stroked his course, graying beard. All three of the farmhands stewed in silence that was only broken once, by the roll of the thunder as he quaeritated the right words to say to Jude.

Schroder Farm Part 1
It was a cold, dreary evening on a small plot of land near northern Scotland, a cattle field with a large, six stable barn, and a barn house east of it by the name of Schroder Farm. Three men were to work the night shift, and one of them happened to step out for a cigarette in the cold, damp evening air to try waking himself up more. He was still new to the job's late-night schedule. He was also out in the cold to get away from the old man who frequently barked at him for being lazy. He was Jude, the youngest of the three as he was approaching his middle age years the next month. The old man he was hiding from is Hamish Paterson, the temp for the real owner of the farm who was an old man in Germany.

I Have An Insane Amount of Zombie Books
I have a problem. I have bought more than just a few books on zombies, or zombie adjacent genres. And I'm not sure why. I am not sure when I became "obsessed" with the zombie horde, I can't tell you where it sprang from, but I can tell you that the evidence is in my closet where I have neatly stacked the ones I've already read. I still have some that I have yet to read entirely through.

Dreamer Chapter 1
The sun was shining down from a cloudless sky while Lorri looked out her window at the tree below from the second floor. She could only imagine how hot it might be outside as she wasn’t a fan of the summer heat. She sighed heavily to herself but thought that at least she doesn’t have school to worry about anymore since she got her high school diploma just a few weeks ago.
