Life in a Horror Movie
“It’s just a dream, it’s just a dream.” I shut my eyes and pinch myself harder this time hoping I’ll awake from this horrendous nightmare. 3… 2…1… my eyes open to see myself back in my room. The warmth of my bed comforts me and the sight of my small yet cozy room gives me a sense of peace. There’s nothing I want more than to get rid of the images I saw in my head. People were still alive as peculiar creatures had cut them open with butcher knives or anything they could get their hands on. Blood curling screams filled the building from those who were tortured alive. There were children there, girls. With their blonde hair pinned up in pigtails, their dresses as white as snow, their eyes as blue as sapphires; you too would mistake them for being innocent and pure. Evil filled that place; there was nothing hopeful about it. Everything was either being killed or was already deceased. All I know is that I do not wish to go back to sleep, for I dread what might fill my head again.

Siren
Once upon a time a completely normal girl sat at home, relishing in the warmth of the blanket she had covered herself with. She sat on her couch, gripping her phone in her hands texting away to her friends. They chatted about school, they chatted about their teachers, and their peers. A specific one in fact, her name was Veronica, she didn’t have many friends and she wasn’t conventionally pretty. However she was super smart and extremely kind but what does that matter? She was ugly and unpopular, nothing compared to the completely normal girl named Sadie sitting under a blanket on her couch. But somehow, the boy Sadie had a crush on was drawn to Veronica. They were rarely seen without each other and this angered Sadie, she was prepared to make Veronica’s life a living hell. What right did Veronica have to take him away from Sadie? Why couldn’t he see how worthless Veronica was compared to the completely normal girl sitting on her couch?

Not Your Bedtime Stories
Where do I begin? I guess the very beginning is a good start. It was about four weeks ago, I decided to clock out of work early in order to have time for window shopping at the town's new strip mall. Just like any other day, I exit through the back of the pizza joint for a smoke break.

Is the World Ever Safe? (Part 1)
Running through the forest making her way to the clearing that is only inches away. Heart racing, lungs short of breath, she whipped her head back to see if he was still following. Nothing, she started to slow down to a brisk walk, still worried about him hearing her. She stops to catching her breath so then she can be ready to run through the clearing.

Crave
A sweet melody filled the night as the air around her thickened. Bursts of light broke through the dark hall as she followed the captivating song. Lyrics drowned in beauty and sorrow pulled her soul, bringing a wave of emotion she hadn't expected. She closed her eyes and let it wash over her.

Can You Survive off of Fear?
A quick flashback to 2017 and a lot of you will remember the movie IT. I loved the movie due to the new interpretation of Pennywise. Now personally, I am a man of science and I like to rip things apart. As obvious by the title, I was really bugged by the fact that Pennywise doesn’t kill/eat Beverly, but he puts her in a hypnotised state instead. After digging a little deeper, (literally just me watching the film again) I realised that Pennywise only eats “scared” children. He has even gone as far as saying that “frightened flesh tastes better.” Now, this really got me curious, since a monster like him shouldn’t really give a damn whether the child he’s after is scared or not. It should be that he needs energy to survive, hence he feeds on innocent little children. But this clearly isn’t the case because he doesn’t just eat Beverly. So I asked myself the question, what’s so special about someone who is frightened and if Pennywise can survive on “fear?”

Heidi
The trees were dense and dark. The sounds of nature could be heard all around. Crickets chirping were prominent but something was still off. It was like nature was yelling at me to get out. But I couldn't. My dog, Heidi, was missing and I had to find her. This wasn't the first time, and I'm sure it wouldn't be the last, but it all just felt really off. Birds were screaming, and my body wanted to react.
