The Spooky of Hollowbrook Home
The breezes howled and the deluge poured energetically as the Johnson family appeared at their new home, Hollowbrook House. Settled some place down in the open country, the old Victorian estate waited appallingly in the tempestuous night. They had heard blabber-mouthy goodies about bizarre occasions close by, yet they pardoned them as straightforward thoughts. Sadly, their lives planned to take a startling turn.

Cracked Stucco
A hulking young man and a petite young woman stood at the end of a desolate road beneath a flickering streetlight. Before them, a rusty sign declared the surrounding area private and promised unlawful entries would be prosecuted. Empty nip bottles, tire tracks, and a well-worn trailhead into the woods spoke differently.

Once Bitten
April 20, 1880 I was allowed to go on a supply run today. We crept our way towards the town, watching for the dead. There were 3 or 4 on our way to town, but they came at us one at a time, which made it easy. Our first view of main street was horrific. Bodies laid in piles of blood and scattered organs. Mom tried to cover my eyes, but Joseph told her I had already seen worse. I was there when the first wave attacked our small outpost. The dead came from every direction. My dad tried his best, but one dead turned into five, and he was eaten right before my eyes. We were divided into groups of 3 and given a building to check. Me and mom got Joseph and the general store. It was completely untouched. We stuffed our bags and went back outside. The bodies were gone. I noticed first, but before I could say anything, a loud scream rang out from inside the saloon. We ran to help, but the threat was dealt with, and everyone was safe. Unfortunately, the scream caught the attention of the rest of the dead that had disappeared. There were over a dozen. We were outnumbered, but thankfully, we weren't the only ones to hear the scream. The rest of the groups came just in time. After we finished dealing with the dead, we came back to the fort. Another successful trip outside the wall. We found a lot of food, and no one was hurt. April 21, 1880 I woke up drenched in sweat. My whole body hurts, and I know why. I was putting on my trousers when I felt a sharp pain in my hip. I have a small chunk of flesh missing, but I have no memory of being bit. I am going to die, and there is nothing I can do. I remember watching Wilson try and fight the infection, but the fever finally took him after 4 days. That means I have 3 days to live. I don't want to go through this. I am terrified of what I know is my fate. The worst part of all is that I don't know how to break it to my mom. I know if I were to tell Joseph, he would take me out to the middle of the fort and shoot me. Thankfully, I have been able to avoid them. I still don't know how I am going to tell mom. April 22, 1880 I am going to die soon. I know what happens. I watched Wilson slowly deteriorate before the fever took him. I already have a fever I can't break. Next will be vomiting. At some point, the bite will start oozing pus, which, according to Joseph, is a sign of infection. Then I will start to lose my strength, and it will be difficult and painful to move. I have tried to sneak into the creek to cool off, but it is hard to get out of this old fort unnoticed. I have been avoiding my mom the best I can, but I think she knows something is wrong. April 23, 1880 I can't break this fever, and the vomiting started. Because of that, I ran away. That would be hard to explain. So, I am now barricaded in one of the offices we cleared when we first arrived. I checked the bite, and it is discolored, and there is a nasty looking green substance seeping out. I am not going to make it. Momma, I am sorry. I didn't mean to get bit.

Scary Painting at Morris-Jumel Mansion, New York
As the moon cast its feeble light over the Morris-Jumel Mansion, the centuries-old edifice seemed to groan under the weight of its own secrets. The once-grand windows, now shrouded in ivy, stared out like hollow eyes, reflecting the pale glow of the night. The wind whispered through the ancient trees, carrying with it tales of forgotten souls.

How to Write a Killer Slasher Film
Hello friends. DJ Robbins here and I want to give you a tip for writing a slasher flick. Scream was a film that made audiences think about the slasher film in a certain way. That’s the way to think about them if you want to continue looking at them as some silly game that is a paint by numbers approach with the wrong things colored in.
