Shadows of the Veil - I
Jessica lay in bed, sweat recoloring her pad and sheets. The room was a chaotic mess, grimy dress undefined from the clean ones strewn almost the floor. The ceiling fan squeaked in a consistent cadence and she was grateful for the white clamor. It suffocated out the quiet, which might be stunning at night. The hush was nearly as terrible as the obscurity. In spite of the fact that she was well into her twenties, Jessica’s little room was lit by a delicate night-light in the shape of a bow moon. The obscurity had a way of inching up on her, and if she wasn’t cautious, it would swallow her entirety.

Retirement Never Looked So Grim - II
He was anticipating us to dispatch ourselves at him. Zombies are ten times more grounded than livings and we don’t respond to harm. As it were thing that can murder us (so I am told by those who show up to know more than me) is a bullet straight to the brain or our heads being cut off.

Whispers from Venus' Grave
The young lady in the memorial park is your best companion, so you take her domestic. The night is a bruise between you, a smudge of rebel in the traveler window; the colour of natural product cleared out out to putrefy. The body pries at her seatbelt, a finger, at that point two. The radio echoes inactive, the body rearranges in her situate. You consider the confront; the comparative cut of jaw, the nose bumped from where a baseball had hit her at twelve, fair somewhat off middle. The skin like a rain-licked plastic sack. The stink of musk and sulfur. You need to see absent but you cannot. She's so lovely, indeed like this. Your headlights rake chattered openings through the soil street, a yellow like jaundice. Your hands are firm from the cold, your lips split. The young lady close to you is dead and you are bringing her home.

An Offer You Can't Refuse!
The door behind him slammed shut. Sweat poured down from his brow. I almost accidentally did pee my pants. What on earth, Lisa? I mean, I did hate her but not enough to kill her. Apparently, someone else did? How the heck did she end up here? Questions swirled like tornadoes in my head.

Un(con)Trolled Podcast
Podcast networks spend millions of dollars on top-notch audio fiction that typically attracts hordes of listeners and opportunistic advertisers. For example, Spotify scored big with Batman Unburied in 2022 and has recently released Batman Unburied: Fallen City.

Cold
Damn, it’s cold in here! I’ve never felt this cold in all my life. I did come close once when walking across a lake and the ice gave way. The freezing water soaking through every stich of clothing causing me to gasp as all the air rushed from my lungs. Ironically, it was those same saturated clothes coupled with the frigid air that saved my life. I placed my jacket arms and mittens with my hands in them on the ice and they quickly froze to the lake surface. Now I had the leverage needed to pull myself out of the water. Ice crystals immediately formed over my entire body. Fortunately, another ice fisherman saw the whole event and helped me back to a warm campfire.
