"That wasn't a happy story" Miley said frowning "well obviously it's a horror story" Eric said chuckling as he added a few more logs into their bonfire "besides it's made up to scare you" Miley rolled her eyes "you could do better" she laughed and pulled her jacket tighter around herself, at the same moment a snap of sticks came from off in the distance "what was that?" she asked looking at Eric nervously "nothing..." he said also feeling on edge as it happened again "lets throw some water on this fire and go back inside" he said.

Eric and Miley were at Miley's family's house for thanksgiving and Eric being Miley's boyfriend it was his first major holiday with her family, of course they had gone to his family's first that morning "yeah we should it feels like it's gonna snow" she agreed and they put out the fire and went inside.

The next morning when everyone woke up, they discovered it had snowed and were shocked to discover a set of foot prints stopped at their sliding door, and appeared to also leave their door, the reason this was weird, was because after Eric and Miley had come in, no one left the house all night "you don't think it was...well whoever that was stepping on sticks out in the woods last night?" Miley asked Eric "nah thats gotta be a weird coincidence" he said as there was a knock on the door and Miley's dad Jeff went to answer it "hello?" he asked opening the door to reveal a couple of police men "good morning sir, were going around letting people know to stay cautious as theres a killer who escaped the jail a few miles up and he could be anywhere" he said and Jeff nodded "well come on in officers because we did notice something strange" he said and they came in curiously "well you see.." Jeff said "after my daughter and her boyfriend came inside last night none of us left the house, and we woke up this morning to find these" he said pointing to the foot prints "and when we were outside we heard what sounded like a person in the woods" Miley added and the cops nodded "we'll look into that, thank you sir, ma'am" they said and they saw themselves outside to go investigate the tip they had just received.

That evening Jeff turned on the local news and it turned out the killer that had escaped was caught...he was hiding in their shed that was on the property line in the woods he was in the middle of whittling a stick into another knife, when he was caught he confessed that he was going to break into the home but when it started getting light he got scared he'd be caught.

A few weeks later it was getting closer to Christmas Eric and Miley went out to the local animal shelter looking for a new friend, they wound up adopting a kitten they called "wabbit" Miley showed her new kitten to her mom Kathleen "hes gonna live here and hes gonna give so many snuggles" she smiled and let her mom have a turn holding the kitten, Eric came inside and started some hot chocolate for everyone "what has happened in the last few weeks since that man was here?" he asked curiously "it's been peaceful" Kathleen said happily as she held the kitten "everyone lived happily ever after and sailed away into the sunset" she chuckled to herself "but really everyone lived happily ever after" she said and they in fact DID live happily ever after
